What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
Leadership is a quality that helps in leading an organization in a principled manner to help with taking challenges and risks. Their ability to keep everyone focused and motivated is an important skill to possess. Leaders must constantly break the norms and challenge their abilities. I am a doctor and a passionate academician working as a leader, guiding my team to achieve their goals by challenging their competency to the utmost.
I consider myself a democratic leader who considers her team’s contributions to achieve goals set for the growth of the institute. My belief in a democratic system of leadership has helped me in building a strong and committed team in my institute. Through a positive leadership style, I have instilled core values, in my team, which have helped them enhance their skills and personalities like integrity, honesty, creativity, open-mindedness, empathy and flexibility.
How does the curriculum of the college ensure the best practice of industry?
Our institute primarily conducts healthcare courses. Apart from the regular course curriculum we also focus on giving a holistic approach to teaching where the student is extensively trained in English, computers, and soft skills. I believe that the curriculum of the course should be designed to make the candidate or student industry-ready and job oriented. There must also be equal weightage on theory and practical for any candidate to excel in any stream, especially healthcare. The college understands that no curriculum can go without regular updates and we do so for all subjects that are taught in our institute.
Any insights into how your institute could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?
Our institute, Impact Paramedical and Health Institute (IPHI) is a healthcare training institute that strongly believes in the philosophy of equality which is an essential part of quality healthcare in the country. Our policy is for all students to be considered equals and that no one is dealt with any sort of discrimination. A large portion of our students come from moderate households and hence we strive to provide them scholarships if they are meritorious. We also provide special discounts for female students and a flexible payment system to pay fees in installments. There is even assistance in case students need to apply for student loans. All these measures are there to ensure all deserving candidates get to build a career in healthcare and there is no mismatch of demand and supply of manpower.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the Institution and the students are?
For the institute, I would say, that our goal is to provide the best and quality education to every candidate and treat them equally. Industry exposure is a must and for the same IPHI organizes various industry visits for its candidates regularly. Apart from this, there are consistent interactions with industry experts through guest lectures and webinars that are arranged for the students to keep themselves updated on the industry. A student, on the other hand, is expected to be disciplined and to have complete awareness on what are the rules and regulations of the institute or organization.
What do you think should be the Institution’s top priority over the next 10 years?
Over the years the institute should aim to transform itself into a formidable brand for holistic and quality education. It should also focus on creating more and more job-oriented courses to fit the needs of the industry. IPHI’s goal should be to empower itself to achieve a 100% placement guarantee to fulfil the needs of the students and the industry.
What would you like people to know about your Institute they may not know?
I would like people to know that IPHI is an institute that is a space for quality training and developing skills in students. Studying with us would help in building a strong personality that can enable them to handle every possible eventuality not only in their personal life but also in their professional lives. IPHI is the only institute managed entirely by doctors and we have the best healthcare facilities and infrastructure.
What do you see as your college’s greatest strengths?
Quality education, equal weightage to theory and practical, personalized focus, regular industry visits, training and placement are the main strengths that IPHI focuses on.
What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for your college specifically?
The only and only biggest challenge, I believe there is in higher education, is the advocacy of paramedical courses both among the candidates as well as the professionals in the industry.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth?
I suggest our students be patient, devoted, disciplined and have a positive and problem-solving attitude. They should inculcate a gratuitous attitude and empathy towards everyone.
How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in institute?
A healthy relationship can be built when you are regularly involved in taking feedback from stakeholders, analyzing them and implementing them to achieve the institute’s goal of imparting quality education. Additionally, looking into the needs of the employees both professionally and personally we must provide them with a friendly environment that would also help in building a strong positive environment in the institute.
