Miss. Ruth Kumkal is the Head of the Department of M.Sc. Nursing degree at Santosh College of Teacher’s Training College in Ranchi. Here, she also works as an Assistant Professor and Vice Principal. Miss Kumkal holds a B.Sc. in Nursing from the Shine Abdul Razzaque Ansari Institute of Health in Oina and an M.Sc. in Nursing from the School and Nursing, Chhattisgarh. She has over eight years of experience in the field and in academia.

What is your suggestion for those who want to grow in Nursing?
The opportunities in nursing are limitless regardless of whether you choose to work in a hospital setting or in a community setting. The employment picture for the nursing field is ranked as one of the growing areas of need. You can make a real difference in the lives of others.
What are the courses provided by the college?
The Santosh College of Teacher's Training College currently provides three courses. They are an NM course of two years that is only for girl applications. The General Nursing Management for both genders is three years. The college has two full-time degrees, a Bachelor of Nursing and a Master of Nursing of four years and a one-year duration.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?
My roles and responsibilities to universities and students include providing accurate information and knowledge across various subjects, offering educational support by explaining complex concepts and providing additional resources. I can assist the students with language learning and writing improvement, aid in problem-solving and critical thinking, and offer research assistance by suggesting relevant sources. My accessibility allows students to seek me out for guidance whenever they need to.
