Being a Faculty of AIMIT, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

As a faculty member at AIMIT, some of my roles and responsibilities towards the students are varied. Primarily, I am responsible for teaching the subject in an appealing manner that is also beneficial for the students. I also need to mentor and guide the students in any manner possible. I try to always be always available for the students to advise them. I evaluate their progress and find out ways to maintain their growth.

I need to conduct research and scholarly activities to contribute to the field of study and engage students in research opportunities. Besides my academic duties, I participate in service activities such as committee work or community engagement to support the University's mission and goals.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

Establishing healthy relationships with students and fellow faculty is essential in creating a positive and supportive academic environment. I make myself available for communication and encourage students to approach me with their questions and concerns. I listen actively to everyone. Practising empathy and trying to understand their perspective is key here. Communicating clearly and effectively, using positive language, and always being respectful are important. I try to be consistent in my teaching and interactions with students and colleagues as it helps build trust and reliability. I make it a point to show appreciation for people’s efforts and achievements.

What are the challenges you faced/are facing to uplift the quality of education of your department?

Teaching is not a job without challenges. From dealing with behavioural issues to planning lessons - there are plenty of obstacles a teacher faces on a daily basis. For my department, there are limited funding and resources, which can make it difficult to provide high-quality education to students. Teachers also lack the necessary training and skills to provide a high-quality education.

There is also an absence of student engagement and participation, which can hinder the learning process. Integrating technology into the curriculum can be challenging, especially for schools with limited resources. Measuring the effectiveness of teaching and learning can be challenging due to a lack of the right assessment and evaluation methods.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?

Being a student is not an easy job; you have to be prepared for everything that happens in the industry. I suggest students identify their strengths and work on developing them further. This will help them stand out from the competition. Set achievable goals and work toward them. This will help you stay motivated and focused. Build strong professional relationships and network with people in your industry. This can help you learn from others and create new opportunities.

Keep yourself updated with the latest developments in your field. Be open to change and willing to learn new skills. This will help you stay relevant in a constantly changing job market. Have confidence in your abilities and believe in yourself. This will help you stay positive and motivated, even in the face of competition.

How do you try to bring in practical approach towards subjects and make it industry oriented?

Bringing practicality and industry relevance to any subject is an important aspect of education and learning. One of the most effective ways to make learning practical and industry-oriented is through hands-on learning experiences. This can be achieved through internships, apprenticeships, and other experiential learning opportunities. Establishing partnerships with industry leaders and experts can help bring practicality to the classroom. Industry experts can provide insights into current trends and practices, as well as share their experiences and knowledge with students.

Case studies can help students analyse real-world scenarios and gain a better understanding of how theory is applied in practice. Inviting guest speakers from the industry to speak to students can help bring practicality to the classroom. These speakers can provide insights into current trends and practices, as well as share their experiences and knowledge with students.
