You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

As a principal, the education sector is a field that continues to inspire and motivate me. I have the privilege of playing a pivotal role in the lives of students, teachers, and staff. Witnessing their growth, achievements, and success stories gives me immense satisfaction and reaffirms my commitment to the field.

I started my career at an entry-level post lab instructor in the field of computer education and within a year, I started teaching in the class room with muchhard work. Today I have been teaching for 17 consecutive years and I get a lot of satisfaction by developing computer and management students in their field and taking them to their desired destination. It is incredibly fulfilling to witness the growth of students as they overcome challenges, pursue their passions, and unlock their true potential. Guiding and supporting students on this journey is a responsibility I cherish deeply.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10?

Like most universities, we have prioritized making higher education more accessible and affordable to students from diverse backgrounds. This can involve initiatives such as increasing financial aid, expanding online learning options, and investing in student support services.

Another area of priority is in improving student retention, graduation rates, and post-graduation outcomes. We would be doing this through initiatives such as offering more career services, providing academic support programs, and investing in experiential learning opportunities. We will also be concentrating on advancing research and innovation in various fields. This can involve investing in state-of-the-art research facilities, attracting top faculty and researchers, and fostering collaborations with industry and government partners.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

The current youth need to understand that it is important to set clear and achievable goals for themselves, both short-term and long-term. This will help you stay focused and motivated in your academic and personal pursuits. Learning is a continuous process that doesn’t end after graduation. Embrace a spirit of lifelong learning by taking advantage of various learning opportunities, such as online courses, workshops, and networking events.

Focus on developing strong communication skills as it is essential in all aspects of life by participating in public speaking events or joining a debate team. Pursue your passions and interests, even if they are outside of your academic field. This can help you develop a well-rounded perspective and may even lead to new opportunities.
