He completed his B.D.S. from MPCD&RC, Jiwaji University, Gwalior in 2009 and his M.D.S. in Oral Medicine and Radiology from PCDS&RC, Barkatullah University, Bhopal in 2013. He has more than 10 years of simultaneous teaching and research experience. Having an excellent academic log, Dr. Arpit Jain has 15 International and national publications in various fields of Dentistry and has also published a book. He has guided various Ph.D. Students at IIT Indore and B.Sc. Forensic sciences students of Medicaps University. His area of expertise includes diagnosis and non-surgical management of diseases, orofacial pain and TMJ disorders, salivary gland disorders, oral mucosal diseases, oral malignancies, and treatment-related complications, dental management of medically compromised patients, and the acquisition and interpretation of radiographs.

As the Head of the Department (HOD), my roles and responsibilities towards the students typically include providing overall leadership and vision for the department’s academic programs. I also collaborate with faculty members to develop and review the department’s curriculum and ensure that the curriculum reflects current best practices in the field, addresses the needs of the students, and meet accreditation requirements. I also supervise and support the faculty members within the department. Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes excellence in teaching, research, and clinical practice. Provide guidance and mentorship to faculty members to enhance their teaching and professional development. As a HOD, my primary focus is to create an environment conducive to student success, ensure academic excellence, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the department.


How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

For this, I try to be approachable and create an open-door policy, making myself available to students and faculty members. Actively listen to their concerns, ideas, and feedback without judgment. Encourage them to analyze the data, formulate differential diagnoses, and develop treatment plans based on the principles of oral medicine and radiology. This helps students develop critical thinking, research skills, and a deeper understanding of oral medicine and radiology. We organize case study discussions or journal clubs where students analyze and present complex cases or research papers. This encourages critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
