Being a faculty of the IT Department, what are your responsibilities towards the students?

"It is to inculcate good quality education and ethical values in them"

As an Assistant Professor, I am responsible for providing accurate knowledge of the subjects by teaching it in an easy and understable way, so that students can get the concepts and implement them in their real life as well. Apart from this, making students disciplined and focused towards their studies and guiding them to set their career goals with a positive attitude is my responsibility. And slow learners are always my priority, because I know they need more support and assistance from me as compared to those who are already doing great in every subject. 

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

"We connect with them on a regular basis to make them feel valued and appreciated"

For the purpose of ensuring good relationships with our students, we all interact with them on a regular basis to address their issues, academic queries and other requirements and we do our best to resolve them on time. Apart from this, a weekly meeting is also conducted in our college between students and faculty members to check the progress on students grievances and their resolution, because when students' doubts and issues are fixed on time, they stay motivated to give their 100% in their studies. 

How do you introduce a practical and industry oriented approach toward subjects?

"By using case studies and industrial trends as real time examples to teach them any concept"

I believe the best way to teach students is by relating the theoretical concepts with the real time scenarios or case studies and educating them about the industrial scope of that concept as well. This helps students in understanding about the requirements of the corporate sector and also gives them more clarity about the areas they need to focus more in order to be industry ready. Also, universities should regularly update the syllabus of various subjects as per evolving needs of companies to help students fit into this ever changing world.

What best practices are offered by your department to students to help them gain the necessary skills?

"Real time projects, assignments and class tests are there to improve their skills and academic performance"

For us, empowering our students by inculcating the best educational skills in them and by enhancing their overall personality is our most important goal. Therefore, we assign assignments, research work and real time projects to them on a regular basis so that they can effectively utilize their learning into actual scenarios. Along with this, we closely monitor their academic performance and progress. Last but not the least, weekly seminars to enhance industrial exposure of students and mock interviews to prepare them for the actual interview are also part of the best practices we have adopted in our department. 

How do you strategize and redesign the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

"By doing research on Industries needs and taking feedback from all stakeholders"

We draft and update the curriculum of our college after doing rigorous analysis of industrial requirements and developments and by taking inputs from our industry partners, Academicians, Faculty Members, Alumni and students. After gathering everyone's suggestions, we make a final draft to get it approved by the University to which we are affiliated. And our emphasis remains on enhancing the practical exposure of students in addition to delivering them the finest quality theoretical knowledge. Hence, we try to introduce at least 1 new subject in every semester which is taught to students by the esteemed industry experts.

How do you prepare your students to cope with this competitive world?

"By asking them to stay updated about the corporate world requirements and use digital media properly"

I regularly motivate my students to work on their skills, be it technical or communication. Because to keep pace with this continuously moving digital world, you need both good knowledge as well as personality. And I firmly believe that the internet, if used correctly, can play a major role in improving students skills in this competitive world, hence I ask them to make best use of it. Lastly, training programs are arranged by our college as and when required. 

What valuable advice would you like to give to the students for a prosperous career ahead?

"Stay focused and punctual towards your goals and utilize your time properly"

I would advise my dear students and youths of our society to stay disciplined towards their studies, be it their regular classes or practical sessions. Also plan your future goals in advance and choose career and courses as per your interest and passion and not by coming under someone's pressure. And utilize your time effectively, be a good human being and respect your elders. 

How does your college enhance the faculty skills and prepare them as per industry standards?

"They are upskilled through FDP, customized training programs and seminars"

Our college regularly organizes Faculty Development Programs, seminars on advanced technologies and expert training sessions where professional trainers are invited to educate and train them about the developments, trends and requirements of the outside industrial world. This in turn helps them to deliver their respective subjects in the best possible way.

When you joined SRSIT college, what was your vision for it and how are you trying to achieve the same?

"Empowering students with finest quality skills by using my own knowledge was my goal"

Being a faculty, I always give my best while teaching my students by using different teaching pedagogies and delivering them advanced technical knowledge. And I joined this college with an aim to gain the expertise along with enough practical experiences in my field so that I can explore more and share the same knowledge with my students.
