Dr. Laxmi Kant Pareek has been working as the Secretary of S.S.G P.G Pareek P G College, Jaipur, Rajasthan. He has done B. Sc and M. Sc as part of his academics. And before joining the SSGPG, he worked in many prestigious positions and he was the General Secretary of Pareek Mahasabha, Senior Vice President of Vipra Foundation Rajasthan zone first and as a Ex Member of the Telephone Advisory Committee and Railway Advisory Board both of which come under the Government of India. Apart from this, he has worked in a diverse range of positions including Ex Spokesperson, Ex Secretary, Ex Media Coordinator of Jaipur Sambhag, Ex Media Penalist and Ex-President Satkar Prakoshth Jaipur City for the national political party BJP.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Our Pareek Society moves ahead with the idea that democracy is the mantra of education. And I firmly believe that the society in which I was born is an educated society. That's why my association has been so long with this sector because whenever I share my knowledge and experiences with the young minds of our nation, it gives me immense happiness and satisfaction.

Being the Secretary of the College, what is your philosophy of leadership? 

As a Secretary of the Pareek College, I believe that we should try to become the best institution not only in Rajasthan but also across India. And as far as true leadership is concerned, it's all about inspiring and empowering others through your work and making best use of available resources and people to accomplish common goals. Hence, it is our constant endeavor to develop the best qualities in students in a very less amount of time, then be it the field of sports or education, because we want them to shine everywhere. 

How do you strategize the key programs for the marketing and administration of your institution?

We stay connected with our current and future students through social media as youths are already using them rigorously. And we use the same social media channels to tell people about our accomplishments and activities we organize on a regular basis. Also an Enterprise Resource Plan is being prepared for the college which will connect students, their parents and academic and non- academic staff of our institution and everyone will be in sync once it will be live.

In your experience, what benefits can students gain from studying here in your institute?

In my view, students will get the finest quality education and amenities here in our college and we also emphasize on developing Entrepreneurship skills in students so that they can become job givers instead of job seekers. In addition to this, seminars and workshops are organized in our college from time to time and recently we conducted a 1 day international seminar which was attended by participants of 27 countries from all over the world.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practices of industry?

We firmly believe that in today's time, it's crucial for us as an educational institution to deliver employment oriented education and courses to ambitious youths of our society. Hence we do the rigorous analysis and research about the latest happenings, trends and requirements of both the educational and industrial world while designing and updating the curriculum of our college. And we also take inputs from industry people as and when required so that outdated programs can be discarded and new skill oriented programs like BBA and BCA can be included in the curriculum.

How is your college more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

We do have students of diverse communities and castes and we cherish this diversity to a great extent because we don't have any personal enmity or affection with people of any particular caste or community. Apart from this, any kind of inequality is strictly prohibited on campus and strict rules are in place to punish those who try to do so. Lastly, we provide scholarships and other concessions to students belonging to weaker sections of society so that they can continue their education without any disturbance.

What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?

We aspire to be one of the best colleges of India in upcoming years and provisions will be put in place to upgrade the education and teaching pedagogies of our college so that we can deliver best to students. In addition to this, our priority is to collaborate with more and more organizations so that we can provide amazing career opportunities to our students. Last but not the least, we will work rigorously to get the status of a University.

When you first joined the SSG Pareek PG College, what was your vision for the institute and how far have you come in implementing them?

When I joined this amazing college in 2007, my goal was to work for the growth of the institution and students by utilizing my past experiences and knowledge. And I am glad that we have achieved many big milestones till date. Also we have been ranked one of the best colleges in the Jaipur region and it is my sincere belief that if we work with the same dedication and commitment, we will soon become a University.

What would you like people to know about your college that makes it different from others?

Our college was established in 1906 and we got the status of a Heritage institute by UGC in 2001. And the kind of skill-based and employment-oriented education we offer to our students distinguish us from others and we will work with the same enthusiasm and will soon bring our college in the top college category.

What biggest challenges do you see, both for higher education in general and for your institution specifically?

As big institutions are entering the education sector, it's natural that sooner or later they will face some challenges be it related to quick adaptation of newly coming technologies, teaching pedagogies or ever changing requirements and standards of both industrial and educational sectors. And the same rule applies to us also being an educational institution, but we have firm belief that we will show our amazing work in the midst of these challenges and will prepare students for the Corporate world and society so that they can serve at both places and grow personally and professionally.
