Dr. Ashish Kaushal, Associate Professor, Lucknow Public College of Professional Studies is presently working as Academic Coordinator of the college. Earlier he was also been the Head of the Department of Management. He has been involved in the teaching and research profession for the last 18 years. He also has an industry exposure of two years. He has done Ph. D. (Commerce), MBA (Finance), and M. Com. His area of specialization is in Finance, Accounting, and Taxation. He has vast educational experience as well as various research papers and books under his name. He is also the Editor of the Research Journal LPCPS Elixir and three students were awarded Ph. D under his supervision.

What inspired you to pursue a career in higher education administration, and what drew you to your current role as Counsellor/Academic Coordinator?

Higher education offers many ways to use unique talents to support students and improve educational institutions. The administration department is a very important part of any institution and as an academic coordinator of Management, I work to provide students with every facility to sharpen their skills and learn new things. 

What do you see as the biggest challenges facing higher education today, and how do you think your institution is addressing those challenges?

One of the biggest challenges in higher education is student retention and completion rates. Another challenge is the problem of retaining well-qualified faculty members. 

Can you describe any specific measures or programs that your institution has implemented to address the rising mental health issues and stress among students in India?

Our college aims at making learning effective and allowing students to know their potential. We organized many activities and we have talent clubs as well where students come up to know their talents and showcase them on stage. For mental health programs, respective departments keep on organizing workshops for students. 

Can you describe any specific measures or programs that your institution has implemented to address the rising mental health issues and stress among students in India?

There are many challenges that higher education is facing nowadays. Everyone wants to earn money as early as possible. I would just suggest students pursue higher education as it provides a variety of job opportunities, careers, and even entrepreneurship. In the coming years, there will be many well-qualified and learned people. 

What new initiatives and collaborations has the University established with Industry Leaders to promote industry-specific courses?

In the Rashtriya Job Fair 2022 at our campus, out of 1800+ registered students, 800+ students were placed. Many MNCs like Aditya Birla, Axis Bank, Byju’s, Mahindra, ICICI, HCL, and many more marked their presence on the campus. We also provide international exposure to students. XeniuM International 4.0 was the international fest to provide students with a stage where they can sharpen their skills and talents at the international level.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

I would suggest students work hard and efficiently and sharpen their talents. Higher education will provide many opportunities and gain knowledge which will help you in career building. Students should also be aware of the current innovations and interventions.

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program into your curriculum?

Students are very creative and possess many talents. Our department fosters to sharpen the talents and potentials of our students with the help of various activities and provides them with opportunities to know themselves. Our college issues distinctive features where we have records of student’s success and it is called Student-Focused Approach Nurturing Talent. 

What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?

Our college provides a platform for students to publish their research papers and also conducts conferences as we organized 3 days INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE on “Educational Research in Science, Management and Humanities IC-ERSMH 2023” from 19th – 21st October 2023. 

What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?

The management department of our college aims at making our students well qualified and learn things which help our students in their careers. Our students get the opportunity to grow in higher education, research fields, businesses, entrepreneurship, and innovations and there are immense career options for students.

What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt for? 

Our college provides each facility to students and from admission to placement our faculty members always guide students and help them with every difficulty. We provide students, with job opportunities through job fairs, and our students get placed in many known MNCs.
