What is the latest program you are offering in your institute/department? Which will help the students to perform better and stand out from the crowd?

The aeronautical engineering department at MATS University is running since 2011 and recently after covid we are focusing not only on plain aeronautics but also on Honours Programme in Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering. The B.Tech. degree in Aeronautical Engineering lasts four years and is divided into eight semesters of rigorous training and classes. Aeronautical engineering is the right course for you if you want to design and build aircraft. Recently, we also launched a B.Tech. Honors degree with specialisations such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and micro level UAV's which is most demanding in the field of growing aviation sector.

What are the factors that make this program the best for students to choose?

The best factor about our degrees is that they are designed from an industry perspective. That's why nowadays it is filed in the Aviation and Aeronautical Department. We take note to not incline our degrees toward technology but also to cover the latest trending subjects and market demands. The market demand right now is increasing in the field of UAV, so we are likely to have more students interested in this industrial field. This will improve the chances of our students getting a job.

What would you call a "best practice" in the course you are offering?

The best practice in the course we currently offer is our mentor-mentee system. We also have a counselling session for students to avail themselves of whenever they deem it necessary. We find it necessary to help our students flourish not just academically but mentally as well. For our weaker students, we have remedial classes where they can ask questions and get their doubts cleared.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

We have designed this course based on industrial demand. Aeronautical Engineering is a growing field of study whose demand is only set to increase in the coming years. This field focuses on the design and construction of spacecraft and aircraft. A degree in aeronautical engineering gives students the opportunity to specialize, distinguish themselves, and pursue a career as an Aeronautical Engineer. A B.Tech. in Aeronautical Engineering can help you get a job in aviation, civil aviation, and defense establishments.

What types of projects are students working on through this program?

Our students are working on different types of projects like UAVs, fixed wings, movable sweep wings, quadcopters, micro-level quadcopter projects, and hexacopters. The common work areas include aircraft design and development, manufacturing and flight experimentation, jet engine production and experimentation, and drone (unmanned aerial system) development projects.
