Mrs. Ketkee Mandawar is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department at RKDF College of Pharmacy, Bhopal. She holds a B.Pharm from Smt. Kishoritai Bhoyar College of Pharmacy Nagpur and an M.Pharm degree from Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Smt. Kishoritai Bhoyar College of Pharmacy, Nagpur. Moreover, she has a PhD from R.T.M. Nagpur University.

Mrs. Mandawar has qualified for GPAT and has a four years of experience at in R&D Centre of Ajanta R&D, Mumbai and at Aristo Pharmaceuticals, Bhopal. She has over 11 papers published reputed journals.

What are your primary responsibilities as the HOD & how do you balance them with other aspects of your job?

As an HOD, my primary responsibility is to provide education and guidance to the students by combining my experience in industry with college academics. I provide theoretical and practical knowledge to all the students, which will help them excel in future. I will definitely help them to stand proudly in the pharmaceutical industry and be a contributing member of organisations.

What inspired you to pursue a career in this field & what drew you to your current role as HOD?

It was always my passion to serve people with the help of the healthcare system. This inspired me to work in the pharmaceutical sector. As an HOD, I will help the students and provide them with extensive knowledge of the industry. It is necessary for them to fulfil their duties in the pharmaceutical sector by building their theoretical and practical knowledge.

What do you see as the biggest challenges higher education is facing today, & how do you think your Institution is addressing those challenges?

The competition in today’s world is increasing. In today's scenario, the biggest challenges are to provide a dynamic and quality education to all students that will help them stand efficiently and effectively in pharma organisations. Our institution guides them properly in the research area as well as in the theoretical area that is going to help them in the future.

What do you think sets your Institution apart from the other colleges and universities?

Our institution provides proper fundamental and technical knowledge to all the students, which will help them understand the core concept of the subject in detail. Our practical sessions provide ground level technical knowledge to all the students. This in turn will help them learn about their field in detail.

Any suggestions would you like to give to the current youth & the aspiring students?

All students must be focused on their basic knowledge of their subjects. They should also focus on their career, apart from gaining practical and technical knowledge. Complete projects, case studies and internships, as they are most important for future perspectives.

When you came to college, what was your vision and how are you trying to achieve the same? 

My vision is to provide the best knowledge to the students. Additionally, I aspire to help the students who are in need in various circumstances related to their personal lives or education. The overall goal is to educate the students and set them up for success. So far, we have been successful in contributing to this vision.
