Ms. Bharti Nagpal is currently working as the Associate Dean at the International School of Media and Entertainment Studies (ISOMES). She pursued her BSc from Delhi University-Shivaji College in 1994 and her postgraduate diploma in Journalism from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan in 1995.
Bharti Nagpal is a journalist with 26 years of experience in the media industry. She started Her career began in 1995 as a Crime Reporter, covering important stories like Priyadarshini Mattoo case, Nanda's hit-and-run case, and Jessica Lal's murder case. She later moved on to other areas of news with leading news channels such as Jain TV, Zee News, and Rajya Sabha TV world, India, and others. As a News Anchor and Deputy Executive Producer with Zee News, Bharti produced a special investigative program called The Inside Story, which was nominated for the Indian Television Awards. She also produced programs like Encounter and Zee follow-up. She has conducted interviews with many prominent personalities and politicians under the program Encounter.
Bharti has been a special reporter who, at times without number, undertook many risky assignments. Some of those assignments included sting operations that helped expose corrupt and illegal practices in India—in the health sector, courts, and education. Her sting operation on adulterated milk won her an award at the New York Festival as the best script. writer. She has worked with Rajya Sabha TV and has covered the President and Vice President. Elections live from the parliament Also, she has traveled extensively with the Vice President. of India while working with RSTV for news coverage. She started her journey as an Academician in 2017. She continues to conduct media workshops for students. She has also authored a book, "Working for Media: A Handbook for Media Students," which is available at Amazon.

What motivated you to choose a path in higher education administration, and what attracted you to your current position as a principal?
I have worked in the TV news industry for more than 25 years. After so much experience and contribution to the industry, it was time to share my knowledge and experience with the next generation. And teaching has always been my passion.
What's your vision for the college?
Our primary objective is to create a nurturing environment that fosters the holistic growth of our students, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to become responsible journalists and compassionate and well-rounded individuals. We firmly believe that successful journalists not only excels in their profession but also contributes positively to society as a whole.
How do you tend to establish a relation with the students being the principal of the university? How do you make yourself available to them?
I am closely associated with the students as I take classes and help them in their practicals. From writing scripts to shooting visuals to video editing of news-based programs, everything is done under my supervision. So, students can reach out to me anytime during college or even after that.

What advice would you offer to the present-day youth and aspiring students?
There is so much input coming from every nook and cranny, 24 hours a day, on social media. Sometimes students get overwhelmed, so it’s our responsibility to make them understand what is right or wrong for them. They need to watch it cautiously and stay away from fake news.

What are your primary responsibilities as a principal and how do you balance them with other aspects of your job?
The growth of our students and the institute is my utmost responsibility & priority. As an experienced person, managing my work and time efficiently allows me to maintain a harmonious balance. Fostering an environment that nurtures the students' development and supports the institute's progress is essential. By leveraging my experience, I can ensure that my efforts are channeled effectively toward these responsibilities.
