Dr. M. Janga Reddy has been working as the Director of CMR Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, Telangana since its inception . He has done M.Tech (IT) and PhD as part of his education. He is a very distinct personality and was honored with the IKON Dronacharya Award in 2018 along with the Best Teacher by Lions Club of Hyderabad.

With his abundant energy and patience, he enables the employees and students to perform with commitment for the welfare of the Institution. Dr. M. Janga has also published 149 research articles in various journals of national and international repute. During his professional journey, he wore many hats and was a Research Supervisor, Member of Research Review Committee, Purchase Committee and Board of Studies for Centre for Spatial Information Technology of JNTUH. Other than this, he is a proud member of ISTE, CSI, UGC-ASC of JNTUH, IETE and IEEE and also an editorial board member of several journals. Under his supervision, 2 scholars have been awarded PhD and 6 others are at the merge of submission.

What inspired you to start your journey with CMRIT as its Director?

The unwavering commitment of CMRIT to achieve academic excellence and provide holistic education to young and ambitious youths of society inspired me to join the institution as its Director. Apart from this, the mission and vision of CMRIT is closely aligned with my own beliefs, and it's a totally dynamic and innovative institute, hence the opportunity to shape it's encouraged me to work here. Last but not the least, college's focus on research, its dedication to nurturing young talent and promoting a culture of continuous learning greatly appealed to me. 

What are your plans to make CMRIT a differentiating institute among others?

My primary objective at CMRIT is to ensure that the institution stands out by consistently striving for excellence in all aspects of education. And to achieve this, we have maintained high academic standards and also promote a culture of research and innovation by providing required resources, guidance and environment to our students. Apart from this, we are dedicated to offer a curriculum that is not only academically rigorous but also aligned with latest industry needs, ensuring that our graduates are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the modern world.

What measures have you implemented to maintain a conducive learning environment in the campus?

For the purpose of maintaining a favorable learning environment on campus, we regularly invest in upgrading the facilities and infrastructure of our college. And we also make sure that our classrooms, laboratories and libraries are well-equipped with the latest technologies and online learning resources. Apart from this, we encourage a vibrant campus life by establishing clubs and promoting extracurricular activities, which play a significant role in a student's overall development.

What key strategies do you follow while hiring a faculty for your institution? 

We do follow a rigorous selection process while recruiting faculties for our college and to be more specific, we look for how well-educated, experienced and dedicated they are towards teaching and research. In other words, we seek individuals who are not only experts in their respective fields but also passionate about imparting knowledge and mentoring students. Also, we cherish the diversity of people and aim to create a team of teachers that brings a rich mix of experience and expertise to our institution.

How do you incorporate necessary changes into the curriculum of CMRIT to make it more industry relevant? 

For CMRIT, quickly adapting to the rapidly changing dynamics of education and industries is a top priority. Hence, we regularly review and update the curriculum of our college to ensure it remains relevant and in sync with current trends, development and requirements of the corporate world. In addition to this, we have maintained strong connections with leading industries to not only invite their experts for guest lectures but also for providing internships and real-world projects to our students. And the aim here is to help students acquire much needed practical skills and stay prepared for the evolving needs of the job market.

How do you promote the culture of research and innovation on college's campus?

As someone deeply involved in research, I am committed to fostering a research-oriented culture within the institution. Hence I regularly ensure that our teachers and students receive research grants for carrying out innovative experiments and they also have the access to well-equipped labs and collaborative opportunities. Additionally, we encourage them to publish papers in various national and international journals and also to attend conferences and present papers there. 

Being the Director of the institution, what is your vision for CMRIT in the coming years?

My vision for the CMRIT being its Director is to enhance the institution's higher education offerings and continually improve its quality. I also aspire to see CMRIT recognized as a center of excellence in education, research and innovation. Therefore, we are planning to expand our existing programs, introduce new courses to meet emerging corporate demands, and strengthen our ties with renowned companies and research organizations. We will also focus on the holistic development of our students, nurturing them to become responsible citizens and leaders of tomorrow.
