What is the latest program that you are offering in your department /institute?
The latest programme the department offers is meant to ignite the inherent application skills of theoretical knowledge. The department is devoted to the dissemination of knowledge from an interdisciplinary perspective and to empowering students with a blend of Engineering and Management. At the outset, the department is acting as a bridge between Science and Technology. The best practise and the latest programme in our department is “Reformed Teaching Learning Process In Education." Teachers facilitate student learning, which helps students gain skills, knowledge and thinking abilities. The primary focus of the RTL method is to give students wide-ranging knowledge, exceptional creativity and more comfort, and to bring out their hidden potential into the limelight.
What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt?
This programme helps groom the students to present them. We give students concrete, real-life situations to analyse and ask them to summarise similarities and differences among research findings, artistic works or laboratory results. We also model asking questions, listening behaviours, and feedback. The use of technology is important to encourage active learning. Moreover, we encourage the use of internships, study abroad, service learning and exploring opportunities.
How does the programme ensure that students are being prepared for the future?
The primary focus of the RTL method is to give students wide-ranging knowledge, exceptional creativity and more comfort, and to bring out their hidden potential into the limelight. We focus on imparting skills like prioritisation, planning, and time management; personality development; verbal and nonverbal abilities; and effective communication skills for teamwork and discussion in interview techniques and manners. English is widely used in commercial and professional settings, and a variety of technological literature is available in it. Therefore, it is essential to offer assistance to the numerous engineering students who are arriving with vernacular language. Students take an English professional test each year for which a detailed analysis is created to identify areas for growth. Group discussion sessions are connected with a variety of abilities, including leadership, critical thinking, listening, confidence, coordination, knowledge potential, body language, presence of mind, and reasoning.

How do you train yourself/faculty to deliver this program to the students?
As we found a few difficulties in the traditional method of chalk and talk teaching, we have set up the classroom as a student-centric method, namely the Reformed Teaching Learning (RTL) process. In this RTL method, the interaction between students has improved considerably. As this new process is connected with activity based learning such as role play, students get more space to interact with teachers and classmates. Further, PPTs, videos, OHPs and short seminars are being used in the RTL method, which results in an easy understanding of the concepts by students. The RTL method provides detailed learning to students and also prevents them from initiating a project on the basis of what they have learned in the classroom. To get in-depth knowledge in subjects, technical quizzes are conducted in each subject, which helps students to have specified learning. The teachers meet students periodically, collect the pros and cons of this method and counsel them to remove the difficulties in their academic performance; this method is called the ‘Mentoring System’; students’ personal issues are also discussed and proper guidance and support are provided to ensure the comfort of students on campus.
How do you tend to build an industry connect with this program?
"College to Industry" workshops and industrial visits are held for first-year students to help them become familiar with corporate culture and prepare them for the workforce. The department plans certification programmes to help students become job-ready. Beginning of the first year, students are also given access to campus training programs, aptitude training, resume writing, practice tests, and mock interview sessions.
What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?
In our Humanities and Sciences programme, students engage in a diverse range of projects spanning various academic disciplines. These projects encompass scientific research, literary analysis, historical investigations, and sociocultural explorations. They delve into topics such as environmental sustainability, literature and its impact on society, historical events and their significance, and the intersection of science and ethics. This multifaceted approach equips students with a comprehensive skill set, fostering critical thinking and a well-rounded understanding of the world.
What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?
Pursuing our Humanities and Sciences programme offers students a myriad of benefits. It equips them with critical thinking, research, and communication skills, fostering a deep understanding of human culture and the natural world. Graduates find a wide array of career opportunities, including roles in academia, research, journalism, public policy, and cultural institutions. The interdisciplinary nature of the programme enhances adaptability and problem-solving, making our students well-prepared for a rapidly evolving job market and a future of lifelong learning.
