Dr. Ravi Kishore Singh has been working as the Principal of Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, Telangana. He is a proud Alumni of REC (Now MNIT Jaipur) and has done M. Tech from IIT Bombay and PhD from GITAM. He has also served in the Indian Army in the core of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering for 20 years before hanging his uniform as Lt Col. Hence, Dr. Ravi Kishore has rich industrial experience as an Army Officer in managing workshops and he has also been a teaching faculty for 6+ years while in service.
Dr. Ravi Kishore started his journey as a Teaching Assistant at MNIT Jaipur, and worked there for 1 year before joining the prestigious role in the Army. Also, due to his dedication and passion towards teaching and research, he has served for 16+ years after his premature retirement from the army services in 2005 as the Head of Department, Vice Principal, Associate Director and Principal of Engineering Colleges. Additionally, he has hands-on experience with high-tech electronic equipment and has done many courses on Radars and Simulators. Last but not the least, he has published many papers on Radar Signal Processing and Micro Strip Antennas, is on a panel of JNU Delhi for the M.Tech dissertation for the faculty of Electronics, Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering.

What inspired you to join Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology as a Principal?
Our Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology is not an ordinary college, but a place that values academic excellence and is strongly committed to holistic development of its students. Hence I joined this amazing institution as a Principal to contribute to its growth and reputation by utilizing my past experiences and skills.
Apart from this, Lords offers quality and outcome based education to ambitious youths and has also prioritized innovation in all its academic endeavors. And since I have already served in key positions, both in the corporate industry as well as the Indian Army, hence I saw this as an opportunity to leverage my experiences and expertise to further enhance the institution's academic and professional growth. Overall, the college's way of imparting knowledge, working-learning atmosphere and innovation culture inspired me to work here.
What are your key responsibilities towards faculty, students, and administration as a Principal of Lords Institute?
As we all know that Faculty Members, students, infrastructure and teaching-learning processes are the key pillars of an educational institution. Hence, as a Principal of the Lord's, managing academic and non-academic requirements of teachers, curious minds and administration is a multi-faceted task for me. And if I talk specifically, I am responsible for acting as a bridge between all our stakeholders and ensuring that they regularly communicate and collaborate with each other. In other words, my work is to devey an environment that fosters open dialogue and mutual respect among everyone.
Apart from this, making sure that our teachers have access to required resources and support they need to regularly update their skills and knowledge to grow professionally on all fronts is also part of my job. Last but not the least, providing students with a well-rounded educational experience that goes beyond academics, focusing on their personal growth and skill development, streamlining processes and ensuring efficient management for the smooth functioning of our institution also comes under the scope of my work.
What features and factors make the Lord's Institute different and unique from others?
Our institution has adopted and implemented a holistic education approach that incorporates not only the theoretical knowledge of subjects but also gives equal emphasis on providing best practical exposure and training to students. Along with this, we regularly promote the culture of research and innovation on campus by organizing different kinds of events and making available all the support and resources students need to convert their ideas into reality.
Faculty members are also encouraged to involve themselves in research of cutting-edge technologies so that they can make learning more dynamic and engaging for students. Lastly, our college has maintained very strong relationships with leading industries to help students get ample opportunities for live projects, industrial training, and placements.
What kind of relationship your institution has maintained with industries for the training and placement of students?
The dedicated Placement Cell of our college has helped us maintain strong ties with renowned companies and organizations. And this in return makes us capable enough to bridge the gaps between academia and industry by providing amazing internships opportunities, training programs and real-world projects to students. Apart from this, the placement cell of our institution never leaves any opportunity unturned while training the students for the corporate world, so that they can confidently give the actual interviews and grab good jobs in leading companies.

In your opinion, what biggest challenges are being faced by today's Engineering Colleges, and how do you plan to address them as a Principal?
As we all know that new technologies are emerging at a very rapid pace and so too are the demands of industries. Hence, the biggest challenge which Engineering colleges are facing nowadays due to this, is the need to continuously upgrade the curriculum.
And being the Principal of the Lord's college, I have planned to address this roadblock by fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability on campus and regularly updating the institution curriculum in collaboration with experts to get it aligned with current industry trends. Apart from this, we will focus more on skills development of the Faculty and nurturing entrepreneurship and leadership skills among students to make them adaptable to the ever-changing landscape of Engineering.
How studying at your Lords Institute would be beneficial for aspiring students and future Engineers?
Today's ambitious youth and tomorrow's Engineers can expect a whole lot of things from us while joining Lords to pursue their dream courses. First and foremost, we have a very robust academic curriculum that not only combines theory with practical exposure and hands-on training but also has enough arrangements and windows for internships, live projects, and research and innovation.
Other than this, we have developed a very nurturing and supportive environment on campus for encouraging personal and professional growth of our students, as our aim is to develop not just Engineers but future leaders and innovators who are well-prepared to tackle the challenges of the modern world. Overall, we offer the best quality education and opportunities to students and transform them into industry ready professionals and entrepreneurs. Last but not the least, guidance is provided to those who wish to pursue higher education in India or abroad after finishing their respective courses from our institution.
What is your vision for the institution for the coming years?
As a Principal, my vision for the Lords Institute is to elevate its reputation by making it a beacon of excellence in Engineering education and transforming it into a hub that produces industry-ready professionals and innovative thinkers. Also, I aspire to see our students consistently excel in their chosen fields and make valuable contributions to society. Hence, we will continue to strengthen our industry relationships, foster research and innovation culture on campus, and ensure that our graduates are sought after by top companies worldwide.
