Er. Vikas Garg is the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at the Global Research Institute of Management and Technology. He has over nine years of experience in academia and has worked at SDDIET, YIET, and RPIIT. Mr. Garg holds a M.Tech. degree in Structural Engineering and a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering. He has authored and published over 15 papers in esteemed journals. Besides his regular duties, he has also supervised 100 students with their projects.

Er. Vikas Garg is a member of IOVRVF New Delhi, specialising in Land and Building valuation. He has also completed a 50-hour training program in his field.

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Constant learning and staying updated with current trends are the key factors that keep me connected with the education sector. Teaching and research are my true passions. I firmly believe that teaching is a foundational profession, as it paves the way for all other professions to thrive. As an educator, my responsibility goes beyond imparting knowledge to students; I also strive to continuously upskill myself and stay abreast of the latest developments in the field.

By embracing the ever-evolving nature of education and constantly learning, I ensure that I am equipped to provide the best possible guidance and support to my students, helping them navigate the challenges and opportunities of the modern world.


What are some of the major changes that Covid-19 has bought in the education sector according to you?

The pandemic has brought about significant changes that have had a profound impact on the field of education. The rapid shift to online platforms has been one of the most notable transformations. One of the drawbacks of this online education system is the reduced opportunity for students to interact and learn from one another. The absence of face-to-face interaction can hinder collaborative learning and the exchange of ideas among students.


What are the most important functions in the role that you play in your institute?

In my role at the institute, I perform a variety of important functions that are instrumental in facilitating student learning and overall development. While the primary function is to impart knowledge and ensure effective teaching in the classroom, there are other significant roles that I fulfill both within the institute and in the broader community.

I strive to provide effective teaching in the classroom, creating an environment conducive to learning. By employing innovative teaching methods and techniques, I aim to enhance the academic performance of students, ultimately contributing to a high success rate. I am committed to supporting students in various aspects of their lives, including their career placements, addressing any health issues they may face, and assisting with non-academic concerns

To the current youth, I would like to share some suggestions and messages that I believe can guide them towards success and fulfillment.
