What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt?

In my opinion, civil engineering is a creative subject and students have many career options after graduation. Graduates can work in various sectors, including construction, transportation, environmental engineering, structural design, or geotechnical engineering. They are involved in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure projects such as bridges, roads, buildings, dams, and water supply systems. Infrastructure development is a priority in many countries, contributing to a consistent demand for civil engineering expertise.

What are the best practices in the program you are doing?

At Chiranjeevi Reddy Institute of Technology, we provide every piece of help that students need. We encourage and provide practical experiences and hands-on learning opportunities through laboratory work, site visits, and fieldwork. This enhances students' understanding of theoretical concepts and their application in real-world scenarios.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

Civil engineering is an everlasting subject and there will always be a demand for this branch. Students can achieve higher goals in this course. Nowadays, students have individual goals, and they also have more chances to achieve them. In Civil Engineering, students have several options, like in the construction field. Alternatively, they can also go for higher studies. The main thing is that they need to be stronger from the inside and build confidence.

How do you tend to build an industry connect with the program?

At Chiranjeevi Reddy Institute of Technology, we connect with construction, infrastructure, and material industries. The biggest thing is that our chairman has his own construction company. Here, we make our students learn theoretical and technical knowledge better and gain practical skills.

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

We don’t have a separate curriculum; we follow the curriculum given by JNTUA. The curriculum will be updated according to the industry requirements and students will be guided accordingly. However, some challenges are there that are harder for us to tackle, like students and parents preferring CSE over Civil Engineering. I think we should have communication between parents, students and the college on the benefits and career opportunities in this field.

What do you think are your roles and responsibilities?

As the HOD of the civil engineering department, I need to add new plans and execute those plans. These plans must be helpful for the student's growth and check how the classes are going. I also need to work on taking classes and check how my faculty are doing. If there are any gaps or areas for improvement, I work on them with the teachers to make them more efficient at work.
