Assam Board Class 12 Alternative English Syllabus Revised; Check Details Here

New Delhi: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has revised the syllabus of alternative English for class 12 students from the academic session 2023-24. 

According to the official notification, the name of the textbook will be titled “Harmony: An Anthology of Prose and Poetry”. 

“In view of change/revision of the syllabus of the subject alternative English for Higher Secondary 2nd year, this is hereby notified for information and necessary action of all concerned institutions under AHSEC that the revised syllabus on the subject shall come into force with immediate effect, that is from the session 2023-24. The name of the textbook of alternative English will be titled “Harmony: An Anthology of Prose and Poetry”,” said AHSEC in an official notification.

The council has further informed that some of the textbook content will be the same as the old syllabus, while some are being revised.  Till the availability of the textbook, the following syllabus will be followed:

• The Verger by William Somerset Maugham
• Ozymandias of Egypt by Percy Bysshe Shelley
• Grammar: Common errors, question tags, composition

AHSEC also notified that the textbook “VIBGYOR” is discontinued with immediate effect. 

The council further informed that the textbooks are available under free textbook scheme, printed and distributed by the Assam State Textbook Production and Publication Corporation Limited and for private students, the textbook will be available in the open market.
