AIIMS Delhi Recieves an Increased Allocation of INR 388.88 Cr in Union Budget 2024

New Delhi: As the Union Budget 2024 has been revealed, AIIMS Delhi has received an allocation of INR 4523.00 cores, an increase of INR 388.88 Cr from the last financial year. In the budget of 2023, it was allocated INR 4134.67 crores. 

The AIIMS Delhi Medical College and Hospital was set up by an Act of Parliament in 1956 as a premier institution to conduct experiments and research on various disciplines of medical services. As a whole, Department of Health and Family Welfare got a total budget allocation of INR 87656.90 as against INR 86175.00 from 2023. 

Along with AIIMS Delhi, other top medical institutes in the country have also recieved an increased allocation. Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh has been allocated a budget of INR 2200.00 crores as compared to the INR 1923.10 cores allocated in 2023. The medical institute was set up by an Act of Parliament as an Institute of National Importance having the same functions as AIIMS, New Delhi, but in the field of post-graduate medical education. 

Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry however has met with a decrease in allocation with INR 1440.00 crores allocated against INR 1490.43 crores in 2023.

S.K. Hospitals is allocated INR 750.00 crores as compared to last years' allocation of INR 768.15 crores.
