- Campus is really friendly for International students and International division helps a lot for students finding the necessary resources.
Campus Life
- Campus is eco-friendly and friendly with international students and the community. Opportunities for students to volunteer and participate in community development along with University engagement. Events and clubs are varied.
- University organises activities for exploring the country. Libraries are available and open rooms for students during their thesis; they may book them for their projects. Campus provides good service and support to students who seek advice, especially the postgraduate students' union.
Accommodation
- Campus accommodation is really expensive but you will gain much better exposure to international space and engage with students from different nationalities.
Likes
- Nice infrastructure - including access to GPUs, high-end classrooms and labs, and a gym.
- Promotion of sports - Hub for all kinds of sports, and also promotes sports among students.
- Clubs - All sorts of clubs are present, from kayaking, swimming, to anime and sports and whatnot.
Dislikes
- Expensive accommodation and fees.
- No part-time opportunities at university.
- No big gathering space in leisure time (one is getting built now)
Campus Life
- The campus always has activities—major celebrations include St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween, and Christmas, along with festivals from other cultures such as Chinese New Year, Diwali, and Ramadan. Students can get involved in a wide range of extracurricular activities through various clubs, societies, and initiatives run by UL Global and Student Life.
- From cultural events and food fairs to creative workshops like pottery and painting, there’s always something happening that caters to every interest.
Accommodation
- I opted for on-campus accommodation, fearing the scams that are very much relevant on Irishhousing websites. The monthly rent was 781 euros. If one is looking for accommodation, they need to choose cheap on-campus housing from the start. I waited for my visa and got the expensive housing. If one could apply very early, they could get cheap on-campus housing for 500 something.

- Campus: Campus is huge, UL is the 2nd largest in Ireland after UCD in terms of size. Surrounded by trees, lakes, fountains and lawns.
- Good Professors: I had a pleasure to interact with many great professors such as Dr Nikola S. Nikolov and Dr Ciarán Eising, who also mentored for my Master's thesis.
- Learning Materials: We had access to great leraning facilities both Online learning, Library services, Learning Hubs, academic support etc
Dislikes
- Subjects: There were specific subjects which were not much related to my interest and carrier growth, but I had no option to choose different subjects, for instance AI for Games.
- Access to hardware: As a senior Machine learning and AI Engineer (Nvidia) I know how much important is the access to servers and clusters which were not provided to us during the course of my masters, we had to reply on personal laptops and Google collab for running experiments.
- Faculty: Some faculty were not that expert in the respective fields and it was a bit difficult to follow them, we also made a formal complaint to the director (Dr Nikola) about this and he ensured to fix this for the future batches so hopefully this will be resolved.
Campus Life
- There are many buildings on the UL campus and the specifics can be found on the UL website: https://www.ul.ie/style-guide/word-use-and-spelling/ul-place-names.
- For my courses I visited the buildings below.
- Computer Science Building
- Glucksman Library and information building
- Foundation Building
- Kemmy Business School
- Engineering Research Building
- Yes, UL has all sorts of facilities a student can imagine. Sports, Gym, Swimming pool, Grounds for sports like football and hurling, the postgraduate students union building, the Stables club for hangouts, Medical facilities, Coffee shops, Restaurants, Snacks counters like Spar.
- For Indians, UL had organised a Diwali party and a Holi celebration. Majorly happens at Stables club.
- All students are open to participate in many events across the campus for a number of sports, including football, archery, badminton, martial arts, swimming, rowing, boxing, etc.
Accommodation
- We took off-campus accommodation.
- We came across a few other students through UL's Indian student whatsapp group.
- My monthly rent was 350 Euros a month. A separate room with attached bathroom, common kitchen with basic kitchen appliances, washing machine, a dryer, fridge, water heater, gas heater for winter, bed with a mattress, tables, chairs, etc.
- It is very difficult to find accommodation in Ireland, specifically Off campus, since there is already a housing crisis in Ireland. We were lucky since the students we interacted with had friends already staying in Limerick and they helped us find accommodation. We were also able to connect with them on Linkedin. The usual process is to register yourself in daft.ie and send a request to owners and agents of properties specifying your details. If everything goes smoothly, we need to transfer them the rent and 1-month deposit amount in advance, followed by signing contracts online. It is advised to go via registered agents in Ireland for accommodation since there is a lot of fraud and you might get cheated.
- It was 3 kms away from the university, close to the bus stop. Most students prefer to stay in college accomodation which is safe and secure.

- Brilliant and very accommodating professors they are always ready to help you guide and also appreciate your work .
- Scholarship opportunities - University of Limerick provides excellent up to 60% university fee waiver even I got 60% off my fee and it helped me cover the education costs very easily.
- Campus is huge and has all the amenities such as Spar and stationary and also BOI on campus.
Dislikes
- There is more emphasis of research in the course
- It is a short program but they try to squeeze in a lot of subjects that makes it quite overwhelming although the teachers are quite supportive
- Not a lot of community programs for international students.
Campus Life
- Our campus had one location that was in Limerick it had all the amenities: a gym, a sports center, playground and all other facilities such as an on-campus Spar and Bank and also a stationery place. They had the best campus in Ireland; there was ample space for everything and they had a huge library too, which always attracted students to study. All in all, they had the best campus and we had everything to facilitate our education and well-being.
Accommodation
- It was decent. it was 900 m from the college so quite near the campus and walkable , it had all the amenities, and they used to provide cleaning services every quarter or upon request so all in all, they had great approachability and they were always there to help. We had onsite people to help navigate the campus on the day of arrival and also staff was there from morning to evening to help with any other issues.

Dislikes
- Lack of support for placements. it would have been if they had more career fair or a placement portal.
Campus Life
- When it comes to campus life, I might not be the best person to comment, as I’m more of an introvert and i didn’t spend much time attending parties or participating in extracurricular activities. However, I can say that there are plenty of options available for those who are interested.
Accommodation
- I stayed in student accommodation provided through the university, cost around €788 per month for a room. and If you're looking for cheaper options, you can also find places outside the university. But i recommend avoiding platforms like WhatsApp and Discord for apartment hunting, as they can be unreliable. rather use daft.ie—all listings there are registered, so there’s a much lower risk of being scammed.

Likes
- College Infrastructure
- Professors and their way of teaching
- Affordable living on-campus
Dislikes
- There is nothing to dislike about the University of Limerick. Everything is so perfect apart from some unknown incidents that happen on-campus late at night but that is something that the faculty cannot do anything about as it is an open university and one has to be vigilant enough to take care of oneself.
Campus Life
- The University of Limerick has only one campus with a variety of colleges within it, covering different fields.
- A number of facilities are available on campus, which include the UL library, sports arena, medical service centre, student union club, PSU, cafes and restaurants, etc.
- UL celebrates each country's festival like its own, whether it's Diwali or the Lunar Year.
- A lot of extracurricular activities happen on campus, like the 10 km marathon for sports enthusiast, swimming competitions, and cultural events like Diwali, Lunar Year, Halloween Party, Ball Night, etc. conducted by the student organization also known as PSU.
Accommodation
- I preferred on-campus accommodation, which I searched on the university's website.
- My monthly rent was 740 euros including bills as I lived in a 6-bed apartment with ensuite rooms non-sharing. There were a variety of facilities available like free gym, sports, on-campus pub, and free events available for students on-campus.
- As Ireland is known for the housing crisis, my challenge was to find a room for me, so I preferred on-campus accommodation. My only advice for future students is that on-campus is a bit expensive but is reliable compared to off-campus. Even if you opt for off-campus, please get it verified through a reliable source and then only make the payment to the landlord. A lot of scammers are hunting for students like you!
- My accommodation was on-campus, a 5-minute walk to my main building. Most of the Indians prefer living on campus as even they know living on-campus makes life easier.

Likes
- Cost of living and tuition fee was the most important factor, 2nd was that ireland was an English speaking country, 3rd was the curriculum of my course - was pretty different from all the other management courses.
- I like that UL gives you an international experience at an affordable price. You get to meet people from different countries and get a peek into the charming Irish culture. The faculty is great and really give their best to retain the quality of the UL brand as such.
Dislikes
- I dislike the disinterest of the university in getting their students proper affordable accommodation. I had a very bad experience in terms of finding accommodation in Limerick. And that was my main reason for leaving Ireland as well.
Campus Life
I think UL stands out till date for me, not particularly for the degree education, but more for the extra curricular aspect of it. Everyday there'd be something going on in the campus at some corner. With marvelous infrastructure and a plethora of events happening in every nook and corner, you are bound to get yourself involved and will eventually fall in love with campus life. I was part of International society, Music club and table tennis club and loved my time in all of them. The UL library and sports facilities are amongst the best in Ireland, so if you have an eye for these I'm sure UL is your place to be.
Accommodation
Accommodation was the worst aspect of my study in Ireland. I changed 6 houses in a span of 18 months which averages out to 1 house for 3 months. Most of the rooms are let out by the owners and since they are from a different generation altogether, there's a lot of restrictions, cultural differences that are hard to accommodate. If you stay with fellow students, you'll have to search for like minded folks or that will be worse because you end up paying for other people's blunders and lifestyle. My average rental cost was around 400 euros per month when I usually rented a single room with a shared bathroom.

- The campus and student life in my university is great and the cost of living is better in limerick comparing to the capital city Dublin.
Campus Life
If you're looking for a great campus life, I'll say that UL is one of the best in campus life.
Accommodation
Currently Ireland is facing some housing crises. I will advice you to get an on-campus accommodation which will be around 500-700 euros / month including bills.
Campus Life
The study life and campus life were good with a very new experience. There are very good and peaceful library facilities available here. For co-curricular activities the university offers the biggest cub of Ireland, the biggest sports facilities, the biggest swimming club, etc. there are huge facilities available for us.
Accommodation
I live in a student corridor room. I didn?t have to find a room because KTH helped me find one. During my study of 3 years, I just lived there. It was really great. My room was furnished. I got my bed, one study table and a wardrobe. I lived with 13 other international students. We had our own bathroom but, the kitchen was for everyone. The kitchen is a really nice place because it is the place where I can meet other international students and we cooked together. In the corridor, I had friends from India, China, Spain, Germany and South Africa.
Campus Life
There are various facilities like libraries. Libraries are pretty good. The books are both in digital form and hard copy. There is also a facility to borrow laptops and you need to book them because there are limited laptops. University offers various opportunities. You can be an International Student Ambassador. For that, you need to apply for the interview. There are various clubs and societies as well. So, you can have Indian clubs and societies, Astronomical clubs and societies. There are various Tour groups for trips in Ireland at a discounted rate. So, it's quite cheap. There are various groups with respect to the games as well like Football groups, Cricket groups, etc. I was part of Tour club and society and Indian club and society. Also, I was Indian Student Ambassador and Class Representative.
There are various websites like Study in Ireland. There are Facebook groups like Study in Ireland with respect to the particular year. There are various consultants on the groups and they also help us. They don't charge any fees.
