What Students Say
Dislikes
- Lack of support for placements. it would have been if they had more career fair or a placement portal.
Required Exams for Admission
Course Curriculum
- The course curriculum and academics at UL are genuinely much better . Instead of focusing on memorizing theory and writing long answers the learning here is more practical and project-based. This makes the experience more engaging and enjoyable.
- We had good mix of team projects and individual assignments. The schedule wasn’t too hectic, but we did have a lot of assignments and projects to work on.
Admission Experience
- I chose UL because it's a one-year master's program, which is efficient and cost-effective. Limerick is also less expensive compared to major cities and, being away from the capital, it's less crowded.
- Moreover, for my course, this university ranks 3rd or 4th in Ireland, which is impressive considering the affordability.
- IELTS :8.0 ( I think the requirements is around 6-7) , plus a decent score on your undergrad.
Faculty
- Not sure about the exact faculty-to-student ratio, but class sizes are reasonable, you get fair attention and support from the faculty. Most of the professors and staff are well-versed in their subjects and approachable.
- They are open to questions and willing to help you, especially if you show genuine interest in it.
Campus Life
- When it comes to campus life, I might not be the best person to comment, as I’m more of an introvert and i didn’t spend much time attending parties or participating in extracurricular activities. However, I can say that there are plenty of options available for those who are interested.
Part Time Jobs
- I did get a Teaching Assistant (TA) position during my semester, and it was relatively easy to manage. finding a part-time job outside the university can be quite challenging.
- You really need to put in a lot of effort, and there's definitely an element of luck involved. Some of my friends found part-time work within a week, while others searched for over three months and still didn’t find anything.
- For working hours, we're allowed to work up to 20 hours per week during the semester, and up to 40 hours per week after the course ends.
Placement
- I can’t fully comment on this yet, as I haven’t completed my course. However, based on what I’ve seen so far, the situation isn’t great—but it’s still better than in India. If you have 2+ years of experience, you should be in a good position.
Accommodation
- I stayed in student accommodation provided through the university, cost around €788 per month for a room. and If you're looking for cheaper options, you can also find places outside the university. But i recommend avoiding platforms like WhatsApp and Discord for apartment hunting, as they can be unreliable. rather use daft.ie—all listings there are registered, so there’s a much lower risk of being scammed.
Exams
- Only IELTS , documents that are necessary included Statement of Purpose, LOR, CV,letter of recommendation etc.
Fees
- 19000 euro (2000 was waived through scholarship).
