Course Curriculum

6

  • Course structure and modules are good for gaining professional experience. Industrial experience is very limited. The R&D sector should be inclusive for the Mechanical Engineering department. Classes vary depending on the course requirements. The student percentage is based on your course modules.

Admission Experience

  • Long visa process is a time-consuming and expensive tedious application process. If you would like to take a PhD, definitely consider applying, as the integrated master's is an asset. A master's in Mechanical Engineering is a good course but it doesn’t offer many job opportunities in this sector. Faculty should consider more R&D roles that could help the international students get more experience and manage their finances for accommodation and food and travel. Universities should create more accommodation options for international students, as the housing is really expensive. University faculty should be aware of the students who are facing financial difficulties and have to manage their project and research thesis while managing their part-time jobs.
  • My scores: GRE 290. IELTS 7.0 . TOEFL 90 . Received a 50 per cent scholarship from the faculty.

Faculty

4

  • Faculty prefer being really good with software and help students that could help them gain the grant from the University as the programmes offer really good grants for PhD programmes.

Campus Life

6

  • Campus is eco-friendly and friendly with international students and the community. Opportunities for students to volunteer and participate in community development along with University engagement. Events and clubs are varied.
  • University organises activities for exploring the country. Libraries are available and open rooms for students during their thesis; they may book them for their projects. Campus provides good service and support to students who seek advice, especially the postgraduate students' union.

Part Time Jobs

  • Part Time Jobs may include basic rates depending upon the employer. Important thing is to get registered with the Revenue department so you are eligible to pay taxes and receive employment tax credits. If you focus and engage in RA or other university activities where you can earn or benefit from this course.
  • It is difficult to gain part time jobs unless you have a really good network. Focus on securing permanent jobs as you will need to focus on gaining your honours degree and gain professional experience that can help and make you pay back hard earned money to your parents or loan. Always aim for the permanent and secure placement that offers mental stability and you can achieve better standards.

Placement

2

  • Job search is crucial, as one must have a good experience to succeed and gain the confidence to work. You must develop your CV throughout and tailor it according to the needs of the organisation. Please include good references from your supervisor. Some faculty may not provide recommendations and it is completely fine. If you do manage to get a job offer, always prepare for the next skills required, as there will be many students who will be coming for the same position with every batch, and it’s essential to develop good skills and learn people management skills along with Time Management.
  • Prepare a plan for gaining skills and building skills and network with your employees so they offer you a visa before you accept the offer so you can leverage the advantage to gain citizenship if you are aiming to reside permanently in Ireland. Prepare good work management experience so you can help your fellow peers and become successful. Always maintain a positive attitude and focus on your energy and goals.

Accommodation

Off Campus
4

  • Campus accommodation is really expensive but you will gain much better exposure to international space and engage with students from different nationalities.

Exams

  • Complete documentation, including IELTS and TOEFL scores, along with visa documents such as university transcripts, letters of recommendation and statements of purpose. Recommendation from previous employers.

Scholarship

  • I was offered 50 percent scholarship and some have received a 100 per cent scholarship depending upon the experience and skills that could benefit the University and the Ireland community.
