VITMEE 2024 exam pattern has been set and released by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), in the form of a brochure. VITMEE 2024 exam is held for taking admission into MTech as well as MCA programs of aforementioned university. The test is held in online mode and is administered as a computer-based test.

The exam includes a total of 100 MCQ based questions. About 80 questions has been asked from the chosen technical subject, i.e., either MTech or MCA, and rest 20 questions asked from English. Each correct answer dwells an equal weightage of +1 marks, whereas, there is no any deduction of marks for negative answers. Also, unattempted ones are marked as zero. There has been no sectional time limit, and you must complete your VITMEE 2024 exam within 2 hours of allotted time (from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM).

As per the rules, all aspirants must reach VITMEE 2024 exam prior to 1 hour of commencement of examination. VITMEE 2024 syllabus for both MTech as well MCA has been released on the official website in the form of PDF. MTech core topics includes units from Biomedical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical and Electronics, Instrumentation, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical Engineering. VITMEE 2021 Details

VITMEE 2024 Exam Pattern 

VITMEE 2024 exam for both MTech and MCA courses is May 05, 2024. The subjects tested in the exam will depend on the technical subject chosen for the specialization course. The test will consist of 100 objective type questions (MCQs) to be answered in 2 hours (120 minutes). The student will be awarded 1 mark for every correct answer, the maximum obtainable marks being 100.

The detailed overview of the exam pattern of VITMEE is given below:

  • Mode of exam: VITMEE 2024 will be conducted in the form of computer-based test (CBT). The exam will be conducted via the online mode. Aspirants are expected to know the basic working of computers to attempt the exam.
  • Duration: All candidates will be given 2 hours to complete the exam. No extra time will be given to any candidate.
  • Language: The test paper will be available in the English language only. It will not be provided in any other language and any request to do so will not be entertained.
  • Type of Question: The test will have objective type questions. All the questions will be in the form of MCQs. Every question will have 4 alternative options suggested as answers, out of which the student must choose one that seems the most appropriate answer.
  • Number of questions: The aspirant will be required to solve a total of 100 MCQs. The test paper will have 80 questions related to the technical subject chosen and 20 questions about English Communication.

VITMEE 2024 Marking Scheme

The applicants must know the marking scheme in order to decide how to attempt the questions in the PG entrance examination. It is always advised to the candidate to read the question paper carefully; bifurcate the questions they are confident about thoroughly and solve them first. The marking scheme of VITMEE 2024 is stated as follows:

  • +1 mark will be awarded to the students for marking every accurate answer.
  • No penalty will be charged for marking inaccurate or wrong answers i.e. negative marking is not applicable. Hence, no mark will be deducted from the total score.
  • No mark will be deducted from the score of the applicant for leaving a question blank or failure in attempting it.
  • The marking of two options is not possible as it is an online test.

Note: VIT University has not defined any specific qualifying marks for the students. The applicants will be admitted based strictly on merit. Merit list consisting of the name of the shortlisted candidates will be released. Eventually on the basis of that the counselling process and further rounds of discussion will proceed.

Important Instructions for VITMEE 2024

Students must ensure that they follow some rules and regulations to maintain the decorum in VITMEE 2024 hall and to ensure that the examination proceeds properly.

  • Applicants must report at their respective centre 1 hour before the exam commences. They will miss the general instructions given in the exam hall if they arrive late.
  • Students must only bring their VITMEE 2024 Admit Card and blue or black ball-point pen. Forbidden items like slide rulers, calculator, logarithm table, mobile phones etc. will not be allowed inside the exam centre.
  • The computer screen will display the time left for the exam to get over at the top right corner.
  • To choose an answer, simply click on the suitable option using the mouse. To change your response, click on the option you wish to and that will be marked as your answer
