RPVT 2027 (Rajasthan Pre Veterinary Test) is the pathway to Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) admissions across veterinary colleges in Rajasthan, conducted under the aegis of the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS), Bikaner. The standalone RPVT entrance exam was officially discontinued from the 2026-27 session; from now on, admission is based entirely on NEET UG scores, and this will continue for the 2027-28 cycle as well. If you want to study veterinary science in Rajasthan, qualifying NEET UG 2027 and then registering for RAJUVAS state counselling is the only route.

  • NEET UG 2027 Registration: Expected to open in November 2026 at neet.nta.nic.in. In the 2025-26 cycle, NTA released the NEET UG notification in November 2025. Watch the official portal for the exact date.
  • NEET UG 2027 Exam: Expected in May 2027. NEET UG was conducted on May 4 in both 2025 and 2026. You must qualify NEET UG 2027 to be eligible for RAJUVAS BVSc & AH counselling in Rajasthan.
  • RAJUVAS Counselling 2027: Expected August–September 2027 at preadmission.rajuvas.ac.in. In the 2026-27 cycle, the last date to fill counselling preferences was September 22, 2026. Expect a similar window next year.
  • Available Seats 2027: Over 1,240 BVSc & AH seats are expected across Rajasthan in 2027, spread across 3 constituent colleges and affiliated private veterinary colleges. State quota covers 85% of seats; 15% goes to VCI national quota.

What is RPVT 2027?

RPVT stands for Rajasthan Pre Veterinary Test. It is the state-level admission process for the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) programme in Rajasthan. RAJUVAS, Bikaner is the conducting authority that manages both the exam process and the state counselling for seat allotment in constituent and affiliated veterinary colleges.

The BVSc & AH programme is a 5.5-year degree course that includes a compulsory one-year rotating internship. After completing the degree, graduates can register with the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) and practice as licensed veterinary doctors.

Up to the 2025-26 session, RPVT was a separate state-level entrance exam with 180 multiple choice questions. From the 2026-27 session, RAJUVAS officially discontinued the standalone test and adopted NEET UG scores as the sole merit basis. This means for the 2027-28 session, you will need to qualify NEET UG 2027 and then appear for RAJUVAS state counselling at preadmission.rajuvas.ac.in.

Rajasthan has over 1,240 BVSc & AH seats spread across constituent and private affiliated colleges. Of these, 85% are state quota seats reserved for Rajasthan domicile holders. The remaining 15% fall under the VCI All India Quota, managed by the Veterinary Council of India at vcindiaonline.org.

Each year, thousands of aspirants from Rajasthan compete for these seats. With NEET UG now as the qualifying criterion, the competition has broadened and preparation aligns with the national NEET syllabus covering Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology.

Biology accounts for 50% of total NEET marks (360 out of 720). Candidates preparing for BVSc admission should prioritise Biology preparation above all else.

NEET UG 2027 Admit Card for RPVT

The NEET UG 2027 admit card is not a separate document for RPVT. Since admission is based on NEET scores, you only need the NEET UG 2027 admit card released by NTA.

  • The NEET UG 2027 admit card will be released at neet.nta.nic.in. It is expected in April 2027.
  • In 2026, the NEET admit card was released approximately 4–5 days before the exam. Expect a similar timeline for 2027.
  • You need your NEET application number and date of birth to download it.
  • Carry a printed copy of the admit card to the exam hall along with a valid photo ID (Aadhaar card, passport, etc.).
  • Check all details on the admit card carefully — name, date, exam centre, roll number.
  • Discrepancies must be reported to NTA immediately at neet.nta.nic.in.

There is no separate RPVT admit card from RAJUVAS. The NEET UG admit card is all you need for the exam. Once you qualify NEET and register for RAJUVAS counselling, no separate admit card is issued for counselling — you only need to log in to preadmission.rajuvas.ac.in.

RPVT Result 2027

The RPVT 2027 result is essentially the NEET UG 2027 result declared by NTA. There is no separate RPVT result. Once NTA releases the NEET result, you can check your NEET score, percentile, and rank, and then determine your eligibility for RAJUVAS BVSc counselling.

How to Check NEET UG 2027 Result (for RPVT)

  • Go to neet.nta.nic.in when the result is declared (expected June 2027).
  • Click on the result link and log in using your application number and date of birth.
  • Download your NEET UG 2027 scorecard — it shows your marks, percentile, and All India Rank (AIR).
  • Keep multiple printed and digital copies of the scorecard safe — you will need it for RAJUVAS counselling registration.

What the NEET Result Contains

  • Raw Score: Total marks out of 720
  • Percentile Score: Your percentile among all NEET 2027 candidates
  • All India Rank (AIR): Your rank in the merit list
  • Qualifying Status: Whether you have met the minimum qualifying percentile
  • Category Rank: Rank within your reservation category

RAJUVAS Merit List 2027

After NEET results, RAJUVAS releases a separate state merit list for BVSc & AH admission. This merit list ranks Rajasthan domicile NEET qualifiers by their NEET score. Counselling allotments are made from this merit list. In 2027, the RAJUVAS merit list is expected in July 2027, following NEET UG 2027 results.

RPVT Cutoff 2027

There are two types of cutoffs for RPVT 2027 — the NEET UG qualifying cutoff (eligibility threshold) and the RAJUVAS admission closing rank (actual competition cutoff). Both are important and serve different purposes.

NEET UG Qualifying Cutoff (Eligibility for RAJUVAS Counselling)

To be eligible for RAJUVAS BVSc & AH counselling, you must first meet the NEET qualifying percentile. This is set by NMC/NTA and has remained largely stable across years.

Category Qualifying Percentile Minimum Marks (2025 Reference)
UR / EWS 50th Percentile 183 marks (out of 720)
SC / ST / STA / OBC / MBC 40th Percentile 147 marks (out of 720)
UR / EWS with PwBD 45th Percentile 165 marks (out of 720)
SC / ST / OBC / MBC with PwBD 40th Percentile 147 marks (out of 720)

Note: The exact marks required for the qualifying percentile change each year depending on overall NEET difficulty. The above 2025 marks are for reference only.

RAJUVAS BVSc Admission Cutoff – NEET Rank (Reference 2025-26)

Getting the qualifying percentile in NEET does not guarantee a seat. The actual competition among NEET-qualified Rajasthan domicile holders determines the closing rank for each category. Based on 2025-26 management quota data as reference:

Category Approximate Closing NEET Rank (2025 Reference)
General (UR) Around 29,000–35,000
OBC Around 33,000–45,000
EWS Around 38,000–50,000
SC Around 1,20,000–1,50,000

Note: State quota closing ranks are typically more competitive than management quota. The 2027 cutoff will depend on NEET difficulty level and the number of Rajasthan domicile NEET qualifiers. These are approximate reference figures from the 2025 cycle.

RPVT Counselling Process 2027

RAJUVAS conducts two parallel counselling streams — state quota counselling for 85% of seats (Rajasthan domicile holders) and the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) handles the 15% national quota separately. Both are online processes.

RAJUVAS State Quota Counselling

This is the main counselling for Rajasthan domicile candidates, conducted at preadmission.rajuvas.ac.in after NEET UG results are declared.

Rounds of Counselling

  • Round 1: Initial seat allotment based on NEET merit and choice preferences.
  • Round 2: Vacant seats from Round 1 are filled. Upgrade to a better college is possible if your rank permits.
  • Round 3: Further allotment for remaining seats.
  • Mop-Up Round: Held for seats still vacant after Round 3, usually in November. In 2025-26, the mop-up round was held on November 28, 2025 (state quota) and November 29, 2025 (management quota).

Counselling Timeline – 2025 Reference (State Quota)

Event 2025-26 Date 2027 Expected
Counselling Registration Opens August 26, 2025 August 2027
Counselling Registration Closes September 1, 2025 August–September 2027
Round 1 Allotment September 6, 2025 September 2027
Round 2 Allotment September 13, 2025 September 2027
Round 3 Allotment September 19, 2025 September–October 2027
Mop-Up Round (State Quota) November 28, 2025 November 2027

VCI National Quota Counselling (15% Seats)

  • Managed by the Veterinary Council of India at vcindiaonline.org.
  • Open to NEET-qualified candidates from across India, not just Rajasthan.
  • Candidates from other states who qualify NEET but do not have Rajasthan domicile must apply through this route.
  • VCI conducts its own counselling schedule, which runs parallel to state quota counselling.

Management Quota Counselling

  • Management quota seats are available only at RAJUVAS-affiliated private veterinary colleges.
  • In 2025-26, management quota Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3 allotments were released on September 9, 16, and 23, 2025 respectively.
  • Management quota seats typically carry a higher fee structure compared to state quota.

Do not miss the counselling registration deadline. In 2026-27, the deadline was September 22, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Missing this window means losing your chance for that cycle, even if you qualified NEET.

Top Veterinary Colleges in Rajasthan for BVSc & AH

Rajasthan has 3 constituent colleges under RAJUVAS and several affiliated private veterinary colleges. Admission to constituent colleges is highly competitive because they are government-funded and have lower fees.

RAJUVAS Constituent Colleges

RPVT History and Transition to NEET: What Changed?

RPVT has undergone a major change in its admission process. Understanding this history helps you know why NEET preparation is now the only path to Rajasthan veterinary admission.

RPVT as a Standalone Exam (Until 2025)

For many years, RPVT was a fully independent state-level entrance exam. RAJUVAS, Bikaner conducted the test every year, typically in July–August. It had its own syllabus aligned with Class 11 and 12 PCB, 180 objective questions, and a 3-hour duration. The standalone RPVT had its own registration, admit card, result, and counselling cycle.

The last standalone RPVT was held on August 3, 2025, with the result declared on August 25, 2025. Counselling for that cycle ran through September 2025, and a mop-up round was held on November 28–29, 2025.

Transition to NEET (From 2026-27)

RAJUVAS, Bikaner released an official notice on March 9, 2026, confirming that the standalone RPVT exam stands discontinued from the 2026-27 academic session. All BVSc & AH admissions in Rajasthan are now based on NEET UG scores. This aligns Rajasthan veterinary admission with national standardisation, similar to how NEET unified medical and dental admissions.

What This Means for You

  • You no longer need to prepare for a separate state exam. NEET UG preparation covers everything needed for Rajasthan BVSc admission.
  • The syllabus is fully aligned with NEET UG — NCERT-based, covering Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology.
  • More candidates now compete for Rajasthan BVSc seats because all NEET-qualified Rajasthan domicile students are eligible, not just those who appeared for the old standalone RPVT.
  • The counselling process at preadmission.rajuvas.ac.in remains in place. Only the qualifying exam has changed.

Year-Wise RPVT Timeline

Year Exam Type Key Event
2024 Standalone RPVT Standalone exam conducted by RAJUVAS
2025 Standalone RPVT (Last) Exam: Aug 3, 2025; Result: Aug 25, 2025 — final standalone RPVT
2026 NEET UG (First NEET-based cycle) RAJUVAS discontinued standalone RPVT on March 9, 2026; NEET 2026 scores used
2027 NEET UG (Continuing) NEET UG 2027 will be the basis for Rajasthan BVSc & AH admission

Preparation Tips for RPVT 2027 via NEET UG

Preparing for RPVT 2027 now means preparing for NEET UG 2027. The strategy is the same as for any NEET aspirant, but BVSc-focused candidates should give extra attention to Biology since it directly connects with veterinary science fundamentals.

Focus on Biology – It Carries Half the Marks

  • Biology (Botany + Zoology) carries 360 marks out of 720 in NEET UG — exactly 50% of the total marks.
  • Master NCERT Class 11 and 12 Biology before moving to any supplementary material.
  • Topics like cell biology, genetics, reproduction, and animal physiology are both NEET-heavy and core to veterinary science.
  • Aim for at least 280–300 out of 360 in Biology if you want a competitive rank for Rajasthan BVSc seats.

NCERT Is Your Foundation

  • More than 60% of NEET Biology questions come directly from NCERT text — read every line carefully.
  • For Chemistry, NCERT Inorganic and Organic chapters are essential.
  • For Physics, NCERT concepts plus numerical practice is the right approach.
  • Do not skip NCERT examples or in-text questions.

Solve Previous Year NEET Papers

  • Solve at least the last 10 years of NEET papers in timed conditions.
  • Previous year papers show which topics NTA repeats most frequently.
  • For Rajasthan BVSc admission, you need a NEET rank within roughly 30,000–50,000 for General category. Past papers help you calibrate your preparation.

Mock Tests and Time Management

  • Take full-length NEET mock tests at least once a week during the final 3 months.
  • Practice finishing 180 questions in 3 hours 20 minutes — time management in NEET is critical.
  • After every mock test, identify which topics cost you marks and revise them the following week.

Stay Updated on RAJUVAS Counselling Dates

  • Your NEET preparation matters only if you also track RAJUVAS counselling deadlines.
  • Bookmark rajuvas.ac.in and check it once a month after NEET 2027 results are out.
  • Missing the counselling registration window means losing a year, regardless of your NEET score.

Ques. What was the RPVT exam pattern when it was a standalone exam?

Ans. The standalone RPVT had 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany + Zoology). The duration was 3 hours. Each correct answer gave 4 marks, and each wrong answer deducted 1 mark. The maximum score was 720 marks. The last standalone RPVT was held on August 3, 2025.

Ques. What NEET marks do I need to get a BVSc seat in Rajasthan?

Ans. For a General category candidate targeting state quota seats, a NEET score of 500–600 out of 720 is typically competitive (approximate rank of 25,000–35,000). For SC/ST/OBC category candidates, a lower score is sufficient due to reservation. The exact cutoff changes each year based on overall NEET performance and total Rajasthan domicile applicants.
