NERIST NEE Result 2026: Out on 20 May at neeonline.ac.in, Counselling, Cutoff and Merit List

The NERIST NEE 2026 result was declared on May 20, 2026 by the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Nirjuli, Arunachal Pradesh. The result covers all three streams — NEE-I (Certificate Module), NEE-II (B.Tech and B.Sc Hons in Forestry), and NEE-III (Lateral B.Tech entry for Diploma holders). NERIST offers around 200 Certificate seats under NEE-I, 70 B.Tech seats and 30 Forestry seats under NEE-II, and 72 lateral-entry seats under NEE-III each year. The campus size at Nirjuli naturally caps annual intake, so big swings in seat count are unlikely in the near term.

NERIST NEE 2026 Qualifying Marks

NERIST does not fix a minimum qualifying score for the NEE merit list. Admission is purely rank-based — the lowest score among all admitted candidates in a given category becomes the effective cutoff for that round. This shifts every year with paper difficulty and the pool of applicants.

The exam structure for each stream helps you understand where your score stands:

Separate category-wise merit lists are prepared for NE state candidates (each state has its own pool), All India candidates, PRC holders, and PH candidates. If you belong to a reserved category, your rank is compared only within that pool. A lower absolute score can still earn you a seat if you rank high enough within your category.

For NEE-III specifically, Diploma holders must have scored at least 60% aggregate (or CGPA 6.0) as an eligibility pre-condition — below this threshold, candidates are not considered for the merit list regardless of NEE-III test performance.

2. Download the counselling schedule — NERIST publishes a Common Counselling Schedule and Information Letter on its website. This document carries exact reporting dates, venue details, the full document checklist, and fee details.
3. Gather your documents — You will typically need originals and photocopies of: Class X and XII marksheets and pass certificates; category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/PH/PRC if applicable); domicile certificate; character certificate; migration certificate; and recent passport-size photographs. Always verify the complete list from the official counselling notification, as requirements can vary.
4. Report at NERIST, Nirjuli — Travel to NERIST, Nirjuli — 791109, Arunachal Pradesh on the date in the counselling schedule. Attend the document verification session in person — proxy representation is not accepted.
