NERIST NEE 2024 eligibility criteria have been defined on the official website for all three exams. The eligibility for NERIST NEE 2024 exam will differ as per the examination you have chosen. The eligibility criteria to appear for NERIST NEE-I exam is clearing class 10th/ matriculation / secondary or equivalent exam with Science and Mathematics. The maximum age limit set for general category is 19 years as of July 31, 2024. The age limit for OBC/female and SC/ST/PwD are 22 and 24 years respectively.

The eligibility for NEE-II exam is passing class 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology as subject combinations. You can also appear for NEE-II by clearing the 10+2 (Vocational) / ITI / NERIST certificate. According to NERIST NEE-II eligibility criteria, the age limit set for general is 23 years. The age limit for OBC and female applicants is 26 years and for SC/ST/PwD is 28 years.

You must have cleared the 3-year Diploma program from a Government-accredited polytechnic institution. According to NERIST NEE-III eligibility criteria, the minimum qualifying mark is 60% aggregate in all three years/CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale. To appear in NEE-III exam, the age limit for general is 30 years, for OBC/female candidates is 33 years, and for SC/ST/PwD is 35 years.

NERIST NEE-I Eligibility Criteria

The age limit and educational qualifications to appear in NEE-I exam are as follows:

Age Limit

Maximum Age Limits as of 31st July, 2024 are 19 years for GE (born on or after 1st August, 2005), 22 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August, 2002), and 24 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1st August, 2000)

NERIST NEE-II Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Maximum Age Limits as of 31st July, 2024 are 23 years for GE (born on or after 1st August, 2001), 26 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August, 1998), and 28 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1st August, 1996)

Educational Qualifications

Class-XII/ Higher Secondary/ Sr. Secondary Appeared/Passed with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology (OR) Class-XII (Vocational) / ITI / NERIST Certificate Appeared/Passed

NERIST NEE-III Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria set regarding age and academic qualifications for NEE-III exam have been detailed below:

Age Limit

Maximum Age Limits as of 31st July, 2024 are 30 years for GE (born on or after 1st August, 1994), 33 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August, 1991), and 35 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1st August, 1989)

Educational Qualifications

3 Years Diploma passed/ appeared from a recognized Government-accredited Polytechnic institution. The minimum aggregate marks set is 60% in all three years/ CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale.

NERIST NEE 2024 Reservation Criteria

The reservation criteria for NERIST NEE 2024 are divided into three different categories:

  • All India Quota: This benefit is available for Indian Citizens only. Such candidates can be residents of any State or Union Territory
  • State Quota: This criterion applies to residents of the North-Eastern states of India. It includes Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim, Nagaland and Tripura.
  • PD Quota: Those students are eligible for this benefit who have 40% to 75% Physical Locomotor Disability (PD). The candidates can be residents of any State or Union Territory.

NERIST NEE 2024 Seat Reservation

The division of seats is listed below according to the different categories provided by us as follows:

  • 80% of the total seats of NERIST NEE are reserved for candidates from the 8 North-Eastern states. The reservation is 10% for each of the eight states.
  • Apart from this, 7% of the seats are reserved for Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) holders of the North-Eastern states.
  • 10% of the total seats are reserved for the candidates under All India Quota.
  • 3% of the total seats are reserved for Physically Disabled candidates under PD Quota.

Note: Admission of candidates in the Technology and Forestry stream is based on the total number of seats available in three different reservation categories.

The documents required to be produced at the time of document verification are listed below:

  1. Mark sheet and passing certificate of the qualifying examination ( Class 10th/ Class 12th/Diploma)
  2. SC/ST/OBC/PD certificate (if applicable). PD candidates need to bring their medical certificate that mentions their locomotor disability.
  3. Permanent Resident Certificate (if candidates have applied for the state quota of the North-Eastern region)
  4. Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  5. Migration Certificate (if applicable)
  6. Government employee certificate of parent/guardian (if applicable)
  7. 3 passport size photographs

Note: Candidates who are applying under the General category have to carry their academic qualification documents and passport-size photographs only.
