CGPET 2026 Qualifying Marks

CGPET sets a low qualifying threshold — the exam is designed to include all serious aspirants in the merit list, not to filter most of them out. Almost every candidate who genuinely attempts the exam will clear this bar. What actually determines your seat is your rank among those who qualify, not just crossing the threshold.

Separately, you must also meet the Class 12 eligibility criteria: at least 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for General and EWS candidates; 40% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD. How the merit list is prepared:

• Ranks are assigned purely on CGPET 2026 marks. Class 12 marks are not factored in.
• Only candidates who scored the minimum qualifying marks and hold valid Chhattisgarh domicile are included.
• All streams — B.E., B.Tech, B.Tech Agriculture/Food/Dairy — fall under the same combined ranking per category.

3. Higher marks in Chemistry
4. Older candidate (earlier date of birth) ranks higher
5. Higher aggregate marks in Class 12 PCM

What After CGPET Result 2026

The result is the starting point, not the finish line. Qualifying the exam does not automatically give you a seat — you have to participate in DTE Chhattisgarh’s centralised online counselling. Here is how the process works.

Step 1 — Counselling Registration
Register at cgdte.admissions.nic.in during the registration window (expected last week of June 2026). Pay the counselling fee and fill in your personal, academic, and category details accurately.

Step 2 — Document Verification
Upload or submit original documents for verification. Key documents: CGPET 2026 scorecard, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificates, Chhattisgarh domicile certificate, category certificate (for OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PwD), income certificate if applicable, character certificate, and recent passport-size photographs.

Step 3 — Choice Filling and Locking
Log in and add your preferred colleges and branches in priority order. Fill as many choices as you can — more choices means more chances if your first few preferences have low allotment probability. Lock your choices before the deadline.

Step 4 — Seat Allotment
DTE runs the allotment algorithm based on your category rank and filled choices. Allotment results go live on the portal. Check which college and branch you have been allotted.

Step 5 — Reporting to the Allotted College
Accept the seat online and report to your allotted college within the deadline with all original documents. Pay the admission fee. Missing the reporting deadline forfeits your seat, and it may not be recoverable in the next round.
