CBSE Class 9th Social Studies Syllabus is comprised of the subjects History, Civics, Geography and Economics from the Prescribed textbooks:

Class 9th SST paper is conducted for a total of 80 marks with each topic covered for 20 marks.

CBSE Class 9th Social Studies Paper Schema

CBSE Class 9th Social Studies Paper Schema

CBSE Class 9th Social Studies exam will be conducted for 80 marks. The paper is divided into four categories viz.:

  • Understanding and Recollection:

Questions based on remembering the study material and recalling facts and figures from the same. These types of questions will carry a total of 28 marks and a weightage of 35%

  • Application based:

Questions based on the application of acquired knowledge and skills to solve situations. With a total of 14 marks, these types of questions will carry a weightage of 17.5%.

  • Formulation, Analysis, Evaluation and Creation:

Questions based on examination, segregation and compilation of information to identifies reason and causes as well as expressing and defending views. These types of questions will carry a total of 32 marks and a weightage of 40%.

  • Working with Maps:

Questions based on Maps for the prescribed topics. Map work will carry a total of 6 marks and a weightage of 7.5%.
