English exam, requires students to be descriptive yet precise with their answers for the questions. For this, the student needs to have a good practice of writing part. Most part of the English exam is about visualising and elaboration of ideas.

Below we discuss few of the prep tips that can help you with your preparation for NCERT Syllabus for Class 8th English.

  • Syllabus Skimming: English although a scoring subject, can bottleneck your prep process with the vast syllabus. Skimming through the syllabus will give an idea of the chapters you are thorough with and require little effort to prepare for. It is a better idea now more than ever when the syllabus has been reduced.
  • Stick to the Textbook: Stick to your textbooks, get good insights on the chapters. You will not always get enough time to go through the chapters again and again, but even so it is better skim through chapters once to revisit those important incidents or parts which may pose questions in the exam.
  • Grammar: You cannot skip on the grammar part. A good grammar will make sure that you do not lose marks for small errors. Sentence construction and composition, words used etc are judged and make those teeny-tiny additions to your overall marks.
  • Practice Hard: To get the exam temperament, solving sample question papers is the best way. Practicing will give a good hold on the exam environment and improve your overall ability to answer questions under pressure.
  • Stay calm and composed: Sometimes covering a vast syllabus can be overwhelming and tiresome, don’t forget to take short intervals to release the tension and blow some steam off. Listen to your favourite music, take some power naps, but don’t forget to relax.

In conclusion, understand your syllabus, stick to your texts and practice as much as you can. BEST OF LUCK!!
