AP PGECET Counselling 2026: Counselling Dates, Process & Required Documents

The AP PGECET Counselling 2026 registration is expected to start on 24 July 2026 after the announcement of the results. The registration is expected to continue till mid-August 2026.

• The AP PGECET counselling will be conducted separately for both AP PGECET and GATE/GPAT students.
• The web counselling fee is expected to be INR 1000/- for the general and OBC category candidates.
• For the SC and ST candidates, the counselling fee is expected to be INR 500/-.
• At the first stage, document and certificate verification will take place.
• The second stage includes appearing for the web counselling and choosing the preferred seats.
• Lastly, the seats are allotted based on a merit list.

 

AP PGECET Counselling 2026: Counselling Process

The AP PGECET Counselling 2026 can be divided into 5 steps: Result announcement, candidate registration, certificate verification, web option selection, and seat allotment.

Step 1: Results and Rank Card

• Candidates must first check the official website to confirm their qualification status and download their Rank Card using their registration and hall ticket numbers.

Step 2: Candidate Registration & Fee Payment

• Candidates need to register on the official portal by entering personal and educational details.
• A mandatory counselling fee must be paid, and the transaction ID should be saved for future reference.

Step 3: Certificate Verification

• The system verifies the documents uploaded during registration. If any discrepancies occur, candidates may be prompted to re-upload documents.
• It is highly recommended to use a scanner rather than taking mobile photos to ensure clarity and avoid rejection.

Step 4: Choice Filling & Locking

• After successful verification, candidates can select their preferred colleges. It is advised to select at least 10 colleges, prioritizing top choices in the first five spots.
• Ensure not to click the 'Freeze' button until the very end, as it prevents further edits.

Step 5: Seat Allotment & Reporting

• Once seats are allotted based on merit, gender, and local status, candidates must download the Provisional Allotment Letter and complete the self-reporting process at the assigned college with all necessary documents and photocopies.

Documents required for AP PGECET Counselling 2026

You require the following documents for participating in the AP PGECET Counselling process 2026:

• GATE/ GPAT scores or AP PGECET scores
• Provisional certificate or degree certificate
• Marksheet of the qualifying exam
• SSC mark sheet or equivalent
• Certificates from Class 10 to graduation
• Transfer certificate
• Income certificate, Household card, or Ration Card
• EWS Certificate issued by the Tahsildar, if applicable.
• Candidates who have studied in Telangana but wish to claim the AU/SVU regions have to submit a Local Status Certificate

AP PGECET 2026 Seat Allotment

Seat allotment is done based on the counselling process conducted by the respective university. It will be conducted in two phases as discussed above.

• Candidates are offered a seat on the basis of the choices filled in the application form and their AP PGECET rank.
• If any candidate is not satisfied with his/her allotted seat in round one, they can apply for round two by paying the counselling fee.
