Written Test - Most institutes conduct their written tests between November and January. The written tests, inter alia, include the following components of assessment:

  • Quantitative Skills: This section tests the aspirant’s skills of up to higher secondary school mathematics, such as Arithmetic (Number Theory, Ratio and Proportion, TSD, Percentages, Partnerships, Mixtures and Allegations etc.)
  • Geometry: Lines and Angles, Triangles, Circles, Co-Ordinate Geometry etc.
  • Algebra: Quadratic equations, Functions
  • Probability, Permutations and Combinations
  • Set theory, Trigonometry, Stock and Shares etc.
  • Verbal Ability: This section includes Grammar, English usage, Reading comprehension, Vocabulary and other aspects of English language
  • General and Business Awareness: It includes static and current general knowledge and business awareness.

GDs and PIs are undertaken to assess the candidate’s personality traits such as Group Behaviour, Awareness, Communication skills, Reasoning ability, Flexibility, Leadership, Assertiveness, Initiative, Confidence, Creativity, to name a few.

An interview can be broadly categorized into Personal Interview and Group Interview. The Personal Interview assesses the candidates’ academics, goals and self-awareness, while the Group Interview assesses the candidate’s analytical ability.

PGD in Services Management: Syllabus and Course Description

The service sector encompasses a massive part of India’s economy, and has higher growth rate than the agriculture and manufacturing sectors. Services firms are people- oriented owing to the involvement of direct interaction with customers. Customers generally participate in the service process, often through direct and uncensored interaction with employees and facilities. The resulting variations in demands present a challenge to Operations Managers to effectively use the perishable service capacity. This happens because production and consumptions occurs simultaneously and inventory services often cannot keep pace. The course aims to train enrolled students with the concepts and tools to effectively manage a service operation.

A semester- wise breakup of the course’s syllabus is given here.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose " service management" as my specialization. The curriculum of the course was a bit hectic in the initial trimester and we had 10 subjects and i felt the course curriculum hectic beacuse i have never faced 10 subjects in any semester during my graduation that's why i felt it hectic.Exams criteria was also different from my graduation college because quizes in each subject matters alot in this collge if you want to score good then you should have good marks in all the quizes and each quiz carries 10 marks and apart from quizes there are lot of presentations we have to make and carries 20 marks and 10 marks for the project and finally 40 marks for end term exam.

Placement Experience

During my interaction with my seniors i got to know that the college has decent placement record and in 2019 almost 80-90 companies visted the college campus and 90% of the batch placed in the campus out of which 40% of the batch placed with good companies. But most of the companies were from sales domain and if anyone is looking for good job in sales then it is definitely a good college.Top recruiters were HCL,Delloite,Delhivery etc.The average pakage is around 6 lakhs and highest package is around 12 lakhs. The college also provides many internship opportunities but the stipend varies from 0-20k

Ques. Can I get admission in MBA HR? I am pursuing a BBA and want to know how much percentage is required to get admission in the college?

● Top Answer By Ankita Rathi on 21 May 24

Ans. Yes, you will be able to get admission in MBA HR if you are pursuing BBA. You will need to secure 50% marks during your graduation to be eligible for admission. You will be considered for admission in MBA on the basis of your score in CAT or MAT and your performance in GD-PI conducted by Christ. Your specialization of MBA is usually decided in the second year as in the first year you will have to study all the subjects. In the second year, core subjects are taught. Also, your major in graduation does not matter as everyone is eligible for admission considering you have secured the minimum percentage required. I would also suggest you to practice for GD-PI as your performance during these two sessions will matter and your overall score card will be decided on this basis. The competition is quite steep so make sure to give your best. Read more

Ques. How is XIMB BM in comparison with NMIMS HR?

● Top Answer By Akriti Gupta on 27 Sept 23

Ans. Pursuing a degree in HR from NMIMS would be a better option if it comes to educational excellence, ranking, infrastructure, campus life, hostels, or placement. If we draw a comparison between these two prestigious institutions then it would depend on various aspects. They are as follows: Ranking and reputation: NMIMS Mumbai, has ranked 21st among the best management institutes in India by NIRF 2023. This proves the academic excellence, infrastructural ability, placement success, and reputation all over India. Whereas according to the NIRF report 2023, XIMB ranked #46 among all the management schools in India. Accreditation: NMIMS Deemed-to university is accredited by NAAC with a 3.59 CGPA and Grade A+, whereas XIMB is accredited by NAAC with an "A" grade. Faculty & alumni: The professors are very good at teaching and most of them hold a PhD degree in their field of expertise. Nitin Rakesh (Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mphasis), Gautam Shiknis (Founder and MD of Palador Pictures), and many more eminent professionals are notable alumni of this institution. Placement: Placement statistics for the year 2023 are mentioned in the tabulated form-  Particulars NMIMS Placement 2023 XIMB Placement 2023 Highest Package INR 67.80 LPA INR 71.51 LPA Average Salary INR 26.63 LPA INR 20.03 LPA Top Recruiters Aditya Birla Capital, American Express, Goldman Sachs, Crisil, etc. ICICI Bank, Accenture, Cognizant After considering all of these factors, it is clear that NMIMS is the best fit for pursuing an MBA degree in HR. Ques. How is IIM Visakhapatnam for an MBA in HR?

● Top Answer By Jatin Kumar on 21 Jun 23

Ans. Just like the new IITs, this is another one of those so-called IIMs that simply has the IIM name displayed on its building. The credibility of these institutes is severely lacking when compared to both their own students (though I certainly hope not the faculty) and the outside world. And justifiably so. Building up one's credibility and esteem requires time and effort over the course of many years. The ancient IITs didn't become household names overnight; rather, it took its students and staff a couple of decades to make their mark on the world stage, which is why they are known today. When I go to these types of institutes, I hear students bragging about how fantastic their own school is by mentioning some impressive placement packages that a select few students may have received or by claiming victory in some challenging competitions. I say that you should let the rest of the world judge your excellence. Why do you have to pound your own drum? Go to XLRI or TISS if you are serious about getting an MBA in human resources. They are unrivaled in this particular industry.Read more
