The course is alienated in 8 semesters. Exams are held twice a year and the method of assessment is accordingly determined. The scheme of assessment of this course involves marks scored in theory and practical papers.

Ans. NIT Rourkela's newly launched branch Food Processing has a wide scope for development and research and its worth cannot simply be judged through its placements. It caters to the ones interested in the production and processing of food and maintaining its quality. The branch covers all arenas of food marketing from developing food and machines to keeping the food safe. It comprises concepts from various other branches too like mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and Food Science and Engineering. As there is growth and development in India with respect to Food and Beverage Processing, there has opened up a gate for great research and job opportunities, as well, in the near future or I would say it has already started. I asked a friend about the placement scenario of the branch and he told me that around 80-85% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 17 LPA. Most of the students receive internship opportunities while some prefer going to top foreign universities to pursue higher studies or research.  Some of the core companies visiting the campus for placement are Milk Mantra, IDMC, Tetra Pak, etc. Some of the non-core companies visiting the campus for placement are ZS Associates, TCS, EXL Services, Tredence, Affine Analytics, etc. Other programs that students of this branch end up going to include Management programs in IIM-A, XIMB, NIBM, BITS Pilani, and direct Ph.D. in foreign universities. Ques. Which is better for food technology TNAU or TANUVAS?

There is no major difference between the two universities in terms of their infrastructure and faculty members. Ans. No, as per the recent guidelines, there is no quota as such. Instead, there was a discrete program named PGN-ABM until only the 2015-17 batch. However, it has now altered to FABM (commonly known as, Food and Agri-business Management), which also is elaborated as the two-year full time residential programme that covers allied sectors like food procession, commodities, etc, found since the next batch. Even though the eligibility criteria is not disclosed yet, the name suggests clearly that students with a Food and Technology degree will be considered. So, in that case, there is an upside to this, with almost no worries concerning the quota for a student having a BTech degree in food technology to apply for the IIM, Ahmedabad. Categories IIM Ahmedabad Course Fee 10-23 lakh Highest CTC 40 LPA Average CTC 14.5 LPA Placement Percentage 90-95% In spite of that fact, before even being shortlisted, you will definitely need to perform well in CAT.
