It has excellent lab facilities and infrastructure
The canteen facilities provided in the college are up to the mark
The internships provided are very useful for personal and professional development

Dislikes

The authorities are less open to the suggestions from students
The penalties for mishaps are given without proper review of the reasons
There are less extracurricular activities

It was the first college i gathered details about and the clinical training programme in pushpagiri medical college is the factor that attracted me to pursue this course in this college which was not the case in care of other colleges

My honest review

Likes

The college has a very eco friendly environment which is maintained very neat and tidy. Cleaning is done on a regular basis and the campus is surrounded by greenery everywhere.
The atmosphere at the college helps in your social life as well. The faculties and incharges here are very friendly.Their teaching and mentorship is also praiseworthy.
The college manages to conduct several cultural activities and programs for students including workshops and seminars.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the campus needs little improvement. The building is pretty old and needs to be renovated.
The placement services provided by the college is poor.
The relevance and rigor of the couse curriculum does not add much to your personal and professional life

Admission:

I applied to amrita school of pharmacy and nirmala college of pharmacy and got admissions at both but i chose to join my present college since they had their own medical college and fees was relatively affordable compared to amrita. Since the course necessitates the requirement of hospital training for students choosing a college with own medical college is beneficial. The college is under kerala university of health science and you can apply through ksspcma website. Allotment is according to merit. No entrance exams are required

Likes

I liked the college premises. The atmosphere of college premise if pleasant and environment friendly.
Have sent students for sports activities
Conduct programs like arts and sports as initiated bh students of college union

Dislikes

Theres no support or coachings for extra curricular activities
In summer seasons the heat is too much. They do not provide holidays or half day leaves during the hot summers
For writing university exams girls must wear shawl over the uniform shirt

Admission:

I applied to many colleges like Manipal university where i got admission for occupational therapy, SRM university where i got admission for occupational therapy, father mullers college for BASLP, etc. But i took admission here as this is a well reputed college in Kerala and the course was new and has scope abroad. I came here as it is closer to my home. Easier means to go home anytime. The college seemed nice. As for the other colleges they were mostly out of the state hence due to personal reasons i didnt go there. The admission process was through online site of the college and meeting with the principal and director. The 12th standard score was mainly taken as eligibilty. There are different quotas like NRI, Minority, Spot admission, etc. For NRI quota the fees structure is a bit high that is 3,00,000rs per year compared tk the normal fees of 1,90,000rs. Students can also give their KEAM score along with 12th score

College - its best and worst things

Likes

The institution is quite famous and was near to my place
The campus provides facilities for extra curricular activities
The infrastructure and the basic amenities and learning facilities are appreciated

Dislikes

The strict faculty and management and their rules
The marking scheme of the KUHS university
The system of yearback is emotionally traumatising for the students

Admission:

I applied to Nazareth college of pharmacy and Amrita institute in ernakulam other than pushpagiri. I got a confirmed admission from both the institutions. I chose pushpagiri because it's a renowned institution and it was very near to my place so I could be a day scholar. You should be a science student to be eligible for this course. No special exams are there. The overall admission process is a bit tiresome

Calm amd silent campus which makes everyone to study properly witjout any disturbances.
Teaching was friendly and it makes everyone easy to understand manner.
Exams will conduncted in three times for a year as internal exams. It makes easy for university examination.

Dislikes

During internship, students are Wearing colourdress. Intsead make it as scrub.
College ground is not completely good, make it better will attract students during their free time.
Boys hostel is good. But it is attached to college.. Making it separate a good way.

Admission:

I choose pushpagiri because of better oatient care and also get good experience. Now i currently working in general medicine department here we review the patient chart and identifying any drug ibteration or errors happend and suggest appropriate methods to reduce them. The admission procedure will be based of Plus 2 score. The student score more than 95% in kerala syllabus and more 85% in CBSE or ICSE

“Perfect Place of Learning”

Admission:

It was a rank system made by DME (Directorate of medical education Kerala) According to the ranks we can select colleges. Rank which is calculated with the scored marks in higher secondary education. The application forms which was collected from DME and applied by filling all the marks especially science group marks, by assessing the marks DME will publish one mark list with ranks. according to that ranks we can choose the colleges starting with government colleges and then private colleges. All the colleges ( Apart from Government colleges. Government college will have only merit seats) will have some merit seats and payment seats. if we have good ranks then we can get the merit seats, once all the merit seats finish the we can select colleges by paying a bit increased course fee. once that also finish then all colleges will have some NRI seats. that will be having high fee structure.
