School of Fashion Technology (SOFT) is a premier educational institution located in Pune, Maharashtra, dedicated to imparting quality education in the field of Fashion technology. It was established in 1998 under the tutelage of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS), Pune, India.

School of Fashion Technology, Pune currently offers a 4-year Bachelor’s in Design (B. Design) program in affiliation with S.N.D.T. Women’s University (Mumbai). Additionally, it offers two 3-year UG Diploma Certification Courses in collaboration with Pearson BTEC Level HNC 4 and HND 5 (Fashion) and UG Diploma Certification Courses in collaboration with Pearson BTEC Level HNC 4 and HND 5 (Digital Design). SOFT also offers a 2-year PG Diploma program in Fashion Design & Merchandising.

Only online mode of application and fee payment is allowed.
Candidates must pay a one-time registration fee prior to taking the Online Test (SOFT-CET).
Candidates must email a scanned copy of their Class XII marks sheet (and Graduation marks sheet for PG courses) to the admissions and administration departments after registering online.
Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 in order to be eligible for the B. Design and Fashion Designing programs.
For PG Diploma, candidate should have a Graduation degree in order to apply for admission.
3 year Diploma in Dress making & Garment Manufacturing or equivalent recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) with Bridge course of 8 credits / 5 year Diploma in Fine Arts recognized by the State Technical Board with Bridge course of 8 credits / Successful completion of 1st year Degree from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) / Successful completion of 1st year Degree of any B Design Fashion or Equivalent course offered by Indian Universities/Foreign University with equivalence from AIU are eligible for Lateral Entry (2nd year) to B. Design program.
Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in a common online entrance test.
Shortlisted candidates are further evaluated on the basis of several parameters, viz. Studio Test + Personal Interview with Statement of Purpose and Portfolio
Reservation policy applicable as per S.N.D.T. Women's University/State Government of Maharashtra norms.

School of Fashion Technology B.Design 2024

School of Fashion Technology offers a Bachelor’s in Design program with specializations in Fashion Design, Fashion Communication, and Textile Design. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the B. Design program is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized institute. Selection of candidates for admission to the B.Design program is done on the basis of several parameters, which include a CET, followed by a Studio Test and Interview.

Prospective candidates may visit the institute website and fill the online application-cum-registration form. The application fee can be paid using online payment modes, viz. credit/ debit card or net-banking. No other mode of application or fee payment is recognized by the institute.

Key Points:

Candidates who have successfully completed 1st year Degree from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) or completed 1st year Degree of any B Design Fashion or Equivalent course offered by Indian Universities/Foreign University with equivalence from AIU may seek direct admission to the second year of B. Design program.
Candidates for B. Design program (2^nd year) are selected on the basis of CET (50% weightage) and academic records (50% weightage) before being shortlisted for subsequent selection parameters. In case the applicants are less for a particular college, the seats may be filled up subject to availability & interviews may be conducted.

School of Fashion UG Diploma, PG Diploma and M. Design Admission 2024

School of Fashion Technology, Pune offers Diploma courses. Under the program, students get to choose UG Diploma Certification Courses in collaboration with Pearson BTEC Level HNC 4 and HND 5 (Fashion) OR UG Diploma Certification Courses in collaboration with Pearson BTEC Level HNC 4 and HND 5 (Digital Design). The institute also offers PG Diploma in Fashion Design and Merchandising.

The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the Fashion Design course is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent exam. Candidates seeking admission to postgraduate level courses must have a minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree (any stream). Selection of candidates is done on the basis of a Common Entrance Test (SOFT-CET), followed by Portfolio Presentation and Interview.

A candidate must have completed B. Design from NIFT/NID or equivalent/ B.Sc/ B.A/ BFA Degree Course from any UGC recognized University or equivalent specialized in Fashion Design, Fashion Communication, Textile Design, Jewellery Design, Graphic Design etc. can apply for M.Design.

School of Fashion Technology, Pune Application Process 2024

School of Fashion Technology, Pune accepts applications from eligible candidates through online mode only. The application process in details is as follows:

Candidates may visit the institute’s website or the dedicated admission website and register online for the Online Test (SOFT-CET).
All requisite information in the registration-cum-application form must be filled correctly.
Candidate receives a Username and Password along with a set of 20 mock/ practice questions after successful registration.
The registration fee for SOFT-CET is INR 2800 which can be paid only through online payment modes, viz. credit/ debit card and internet banking.
Candidate is required to select his/ her preferred date for the Online Test at the time of filling the registration form.
Failure to be present in the SOFT premises on the chosen date will automatically cancel his/ her candidature.
After filling the online registration form, the applicant must immediately scan his/ her 12th Marks Sheet (and Graduation Marks Sheet, in case the applicant has registered for PG Diploma) and email it to admissions@soft.ac.in and also cc it to admin@soft.ac.in.
It is advised that candidates carry his/ her own materials (colors, drawing pencils, eraser etc.) for the Studio Test.
After declaration of Merit List, candidate is required to confirm his/her interest in taking admission with SOFT within 4 days by sending email to the above mentioned email address.

Note(s):
1. The Entrance Examination will consist of General Ability Test + Studio Test / Group Discussions + Personal Interview. It is mandatory for all the candidates to give all three tests.

Online Test - 60 Marks
Studio Test / Group Discussions - 140 Marks
Personal Interview (Portfolio + Statement of Purpose) - 50 Marks

2. The candidates are directed to attempt all questions since there is NO NEGATIVE MARKING.
3. The candidates are expected to have design aptitude for the course, which could be tested for entry through Interview
4. Exam to be conducted Online. Students who has registered need to check the mail on regular basis.

moderate simple college life

Admission:

this college provides a course that no other college does so that's why I chose this and I feel like it's safe because it's a women's College and the fees is reasonable. The course is good and it is everything that I'm looking for if you want to do jewellery design, I would recommend this college, not if you're a guy, but definitely if you are a girl, it is a good college for girls and for other specialisation to like fashion design, fashion communication, textile design and they have another subject name as interdisciplinary where you can choose a main subject, subject and a minor subject, which is a good choice

To get admission into the college we had to take the SOFT CET entrance exam. The college shortlisted students based on the marks they got in their 12th standard and the entrance exams. I loved fashion and wanted to do something related to the subject so I found the course really good.
