Likes

Judgement free environment one is allowed to wear walk and talk without hesitating
The faculties are way too supportive and nice
The curriculum and method of teaching is great

Dislikes

Work and assignments are given at very peak crucial time of jury
Exhausting time table of full day college so you dont get anytime for you
Being designer you always need to work and facilities make sure to mark it in a certain way

Admission:

I chose national Institute of fashion technology over other because this is an elite institution run by government of India talking about comparison my course provides a real and an authentic degree on graduation and placemenrs too. For being admitted to this college one need to appear for an entrance exam named NIFT for b design one need to appear for general ability test and creative ability test held on same day if they could pass sone certain cut off then they will have to appear for situation test held approximately one month after the CAT and GAT then the final results are out taking marks in consideration of the three exam one is provided by common merit rank vnd then category rank but for Bftech one need to appear only for general ability test held on same day as b design and the results for thua are announced with the final result of b design

Likes

In NIFT, you have freedom of Expression to express your thoughts, opinions and views.
The faculty is very well experienced here, their teaching methods are very effective and they do guide every child very well.
The course curriculum is very well decided.

Dislikes

The boys to girls ratio is very low in here its 1:10 boy to girl ratio here
The campus size is very small as compared to other campuses of nift
The fee structure is very high.... Quite unaffordable for middleman

Admission:

I didn't apply for any other college as i was very much determined to get into this college as this is the best reputed government college to pursue designing. After the declaration of results we have to wait for the counselling process to occur based on rank eligibility. Then preference list is updated after which they release the allotment list where we have the option of upgrading the choice or sliding the choice or freezing the choice. Upgrading means preferring much better course and campus as per preference list. Sliding means much better course in the same campus and freezing means satisfied with the preference alloted. This goes till 4 rounds. Then comes accepting the seat and paying the fee wwhich includes admission fee and semester 1 fees.

Likes

I like the teaching methods of our faculties
I like the anti ragging campaign of our college
I also like that no one is biased towards anyone everyone is equal in the college no matter what background you came from .

Dislikes

I don't like the teaching timing of the college
I didn't like the campus size because all the other nifts are way bigger than our nift campus
I didn't like the weather of Kolkata I have to carry umbrella everyday

Admission:

I didn't applied for any other college so yeah I didn't got any rejections. I had only given the entrance exam of NIFT and I got selected in 1st attempt only . The entrance exam is not that much tough . The entrance exam has two levels exam the first level is of CAT and GAT in which two papers will be there CAT means creative ability test in which drawing exam will be there and the other GAT General ability test in which MCQs will be there if English maths reasoning GK and current affairs. When you get selected in this exam the another level exam held which is situation test in which some random things are give to you and given a topic and you have to make a 3d model based on that . That's it this the the only two way exam

Thori baate college ki

Likes

College provide lot of interesting projects like Craft cluster we can take knowledge about other department also with IDM
We can enjoy lots of activities and festival in college life
Good social interaction with students in college

Dislikes

Fees is too heigh, every year Nift increase fee structure
Scholarship benefits is not for everyone students.
Lots of things which we learn in college is not vear important like in FP first yera we learn almost nothing

Admission:

All nift campus take entrance exam before the admission process and it is divided in 2 level first level have two text CAT ( creating ability test) and GAT( general ability text) after you closs these level we go for situation text where materials handlling activities held by different campus. Entrance exam was not very hard in NIFT.

Likes

NIFT is always best you'll never have a boring college life .
The environment is also very good and healthy to sustain.
You have good teacher there who can guide you well.

Dislikes

You'll get a lot of assignments and work to do.
You'll have to do everything one day prior.
The mess is not that good and the food is also not that great.

Remarks:

Wanted to do something related to textile Engineer and nift has a good reputation in its textile arena. Bftech provides me the perfect course I always wanted and the scope for good jobs. NIFT is not only a design college but also deals with textile engineering in the name of bftech which attracted me
