Students are paid a stipend of up to Rs. 20,000 per month during this period. Alternatively, students can opt out by paying a bond amount to the government. After the 4.5-year MBBS program, an internship is mandatory, conducted at the college's hospital, GIMS Hospital Greater Noida, with a stipend of Rs. 12,000 per month.
This internship covers all departments studied during the MBBS course. Post-internship, students can appear for the NEET PG examination. The program provides government job opportunities as part of a 2-year bond policy post-study. Students also have access to various academic activities such as participating in quizzes and ICMR projects. The internship experience includes a heavy workload with provisions such as single room accommodations for interns.
