All about IIPE

Likes

I liked teaching style of professors and working of all faculties staffs .Our director is also very humble and friendly person .
I liked the placement percentage there it was about 97 percent in 2023 and about 98 percent in 2024 it is very good score as a college
The girls and boys ratio is very bad in our college it is about 50:1. in our year we have three branches and there is only 2 girls in our year

Dislikes

I did not like the college campus though we did not have our permanent campus we are sharing one building with andhra unviersity . But in 2025 we will shift to our new campus
Though placement is about 97 percent but it is not too good beacuse some student got placement of 5 lakh and it is not a nothing
Students there are very intelligent beacuse they all have qualified jee advance . So it feel good and competitive .

Actually i had less rank in jee advance exam so i didnt got any IIT in my counselling .Then i got to know about this college from internet . In our college students go admission based on their jee advance rank . So this is how i chosed this college. Our college is as per IITS in academic but the difference is that our college have only core braches so they focus on skills . And the is average placememt is also low as compairing to IITS but in compare to NITs it is smiliar with respective branches Admission process is simle student must have qualified jee advance and have cuttof marks in their 12th board exam as per their category and student should have some document like aadhar card , marksheet , TC , mediccal certificate , bank account , Admission for slip etc. Student have to submit all the required documents in hard copy .

IIPE is good in terms of Education and Placements but lacks Social LIfe and enjoyment like Fests and Programs.

Likes

The Placement Opportunities and Exposure to Petroleum Industry.
Good Opportunities from PSU's and Placements from government companies like HPCL, ONGC etc
Internship opportunity from the Institution.

Dislikes

The overall strength strength of the college is too low (<500 in btech engineering all 4 years combined)
Girls are very too low. (<10 in each year and in 2024 batch the ratio of boys to girls is 60:1 )
Our own campus is not yet constructed. and the permanent campus is in the outskirts of Visakhapatnam.

Admission:

I qualified jee advanced but didnot get a good rank to get an iit, after iits iipe is one of the good colleges in engineering when compared to other private universities which provide good placement opportunities in core branches. the only way our college accept admissions is through jee advanced. the cutoffs for the last round in 2024 year are Chemical engineering - 25934 in CRL, 3726 in EWS, 8782 in OBC, 3880 in SC, 1801 in ST Petroleum engineering - 25708 in CRL, 4074 in EWS, 8956 in OBC, 3971 in SC, 1678 in ST Mechanical engineering - 25134 in CRL, 4046 in EWS, 8885 in OBC, 3910 in SC, 1738in ST

Likes

our college have top class faculty coming from top iit's.
we have best lab in our college like chemical, electrical and mechanical.
our college provide 90 % placement each year.

Dislikes

our college have very bad nirf ranking..
we don't have our permanent campus but it is in process.
all btach in iipe have very bad gender ratio

Admission:

i applied for kl university guntur for btech in cse branch. but i did not choosen because it is too expensive. our college take admission from jee advance. mostly student prefer chemical branch in our college.

Likes

all the professers have done phd from iit and very good in teaching
fees is very low copeared to other colleges
placement rate is very good and is getting better day by day

Dislikes

our main campus is in built will be finished this year
the girls to boys is low but improving each year

i choosed this college because this college is because its an indian institute and its a good college compared to many iits and nits, io get admission you havr to qualify jee advance with decent rank .

i have applied for iit dhanbad and iit mandi for material engineering. but sadly i not get these college . i missed from a small margin. our college give admission on the basis of jee advance. most student prefer chemical branch in our college.

our college has very less student culture like dance club etc.

Admission:

i have applied for iit dhanbad for mining engineering. but later i changed my mind because i think mining is not a growing branch and have no future. you have to give jee advance and get a rank upto 25000. currenlty most student prefer chemical branch in our college.

Overall review of indian institute of petroleum and energy

Likes

The course curriculum is very rigorous, there is not much of events that happens every then and now in any other colleges but we are trying to manage interactive events,
Professors here are helpful and frank towards us,even though they do not hesitate to give loads of assignments
The city where the college is located, visakhapatnam, it is beautiful just like they say 'city of destiny ' but there is a twist, our permanent campus is located far from the urban city, so the sea side will be missed but moutains will overtake.

Dislikes

At some times language barrier is a issue because most of the students are north indians,and here mostly everyone speaks in telegu and english,so it becomes challenging sometimes but it forces us to be good at english
Not having a permanent campus, but it is expected that in June 2025 we will be shifting

Admission:

The placement scenario of this college is only focused on core branches which makes it different from other nits ans iits also. It is a good option if someone wants to pursue a job in a PSU. The admission eligibility is to have qualified jee advanced with a valid rank

Our faculty are one of the top faculty in whole india coming from top of iits.
Our college provide approx 90 percent placement each year despite being a very new college.
My college has done collaboration with iim visakhapatnam. if you maintain good cgpa then you can get directly admission to iim Visakhapatnam.

Dislikes

my college have very worst gender ratio. currently in my chemical branch there is only 1 girl out of 53 class strength.
currently we don't have our permanent campus but it is expected that our permanent campus will complete till june 2025 as told by our respected director sir.
our college have currently only three branch for btech chemical,petroleum and mechanical.

Admission:

i got 97 percentile in jee main 2024, i was getting tier 2 nit's lower branch and in jee advance 2024 i got 110 mark. at this mark i thought that i will get ece branch in iist thiruvananthapuram. i waited till last round of iist counselling but sadly i missed from a small margin. i don't choosen tier 2 nit lower branch because iipe have good placement than tier 2 nits of similar branch.

A college you never heard about!

Likes

The faculty here is highly experienced and skilled.
There isn't much academic pressure, you will get plenty of time to do other things.
Female students are given good opportunity.

Dislikes

Campus Life isn't very great but we will soon be shifting to a new campus.

Admission:

I did applied to various NIT's and IIIT's , also got various seats in some of the good NIT's and IIIT's but the tag of "Indian Institute" would be something that will make me proud in the upcoming future as i believe that my college will make it among the top institutions in India. I could have made it to much better colleges but my JEE Advanced rank wasn't as good as my expectations were , and this was the only college I was getting from my JEE Advanced rank. I got admission to this college through my JEE advanced rank , the cut off for general category in my time was around AIR 24,000. The admission process was quite easy.

The dream College

Likes

I liked the various culture of India because Students came from all over the India.
I like the place Visakhapatnam, also known as "City of Destiny".
I like the yummy food of south India and also enjoy the culture of South Indian.

Dislikes

Our permanent campus is not built yet, it is under-construction.
Water is not suitable for skin. It creates iiches in the skin.
Climate is too hot and temperature is very high here.

Admission:

As you know it is Indian Institute of Petroleum & Energy.It is also now a Institute of National Importance.It acquires students from JEE Advanced. So as compared to private colleges and NIT's, it will much better than the other colleges.
