Admission to medical colleges is through the NEET-UG exam, based on the CBSE curriculum for classes 11 and 12. The process includes two types of counseling: All India and State-wise, with MP online counseling as an option. College allotment depends on merit rank and seat availability. The college offers a 5.5-year MBBS program, which includes 4.5 years of study and a 1-year internship. The faculty is well-qualified and focused on clinical education, with a faculty-to-student ratio of 1:180 in lectures, and smaller groups for self-directed learning and tutorials.
Practical teaching is emphasized using blackboard and PowerPoint presentations. The pharmacology department, led by Dr. Sanjeeb Das, is particularly praised. The annual fee is Rs 114,350, including tuition, hostel, and other charges. Payment is online, based on marks and merit rank, and receipts are provided. No direct placements are offered, but students complete a 1-year internship with a stipend of INR 12,750 to INR 15,000 per month, followed by a compulsory 1-year rural service or a bond payment to waive it.
Government-funded scholarships are available for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, and minorities), while All India Quota students pay the full fee. Scholarships like Medhavi Chhatra Yojna and Post-Matric cover tuition fees and sometimes hostel fees for eligible students. The total cost for the entire course is approximately Rs 5.5 lakhs.
