MBBS in the hills

Likes

Faculty is very helping and everyone is able to study properly.
No use of drugs and alcohol . nothing keeps you distracted
No ragging in college. Infact seniors are friendly

Dislikes

No good campus till now. Infrastructure need to be improved.
Sports are not so good. Only table tennis is available.
Very remote place . Only road facilities available.

Admission:

I took this college because I had no other option. I was alloted this college. But you can definitely choose this college. New campus is just about to complete. You need to go to college for admission after allocation.

College life in pt.jlngmch chamba

Likes

The patient load here is quite good as it is a kind of backward area .
Ininternship you get exposed to every kind of patients which is not the case in other colleges
This college is very strict against ragging so the ragging cases are almost zero

Dislikes

Hostel facilities not available for girls and not fully available for boys too as on oct 2024
The campus is under construction so the classes are held in an old palace in chamba as on oct 2024
No good facilities for patients so the a lot of cases are referred to tanda and hence we are not exposed to them

Admission:

This was the only college i got according to my marks in neet ug The other colleges of himachal pradesh like igmc shimla and rpgmc tanda are well established and structured campuses in hp. Those have better no. Of faculties, well structured campus, well connected to the nearby cities. Admissions start every year in the state through counselling and seats are approved on merit basis to various applicants according to neet ug marks

Views on Chamba Medical College

Likes

Teachers for the first year were really good and supportive,. They built a strong foundation for the upcoming challenges
Patient load is good and helps loads in learning. Variety of cases are presented in the opd by the patients which help in greater learning
The classrooms are well equipped with modern facilities and latest technologies are being used for education.

Dislikes

Some teachers are not well trained to handle the modern teaching equipment. However their traditional methods more than compensate
Students are not allowed to use their tablets (ipad and others) to make notes of read books. This is a issue to the growth
Sports facilities are poor. Only a single TT table is provided which is almost always occupied by seniors. There is less focus on other co curricular activities. Very less number of tournaments and competitions are organised.

Admission:

For securing a seat in Mbbs one must quality neet. A good score would be 650+ considering the modern trends. A person can apply to college through state councelling for state quota seats or through all India councelling for all India quota seats and central govt. institutes. A merit and rank list is released corresponding marks an individual has scored. You can select between various colleges but one may only get the college which corresponds with their marks. Himachal has many better colleges like Rpgmc Tanda and Igmc Shimla. I personally wanted to join Rpgmc which was better in almost all the aspects including infrastructure, faculty, connectivity and what not. As mentioned earlier one may only secure a college corresponding to their rank and marks so there were only 3 options available for me to join,of which i preferred chamba. Not getting Rpgmc Tanda was due to me falling short by 25 marks for the colleges cutoff. Cutoff vary every year so look for rank under 200 (Hp quota)

Likes

The teachers here are good in their field of study and provide quality education to the students.
There is alot of time left for self introspection and self study at the end of the day as the college does not have much extra curriculum.
The place is scenic and the nature is amazing here

Dislikes

Faculty is short here and it is difficult as you reach the final proffs to cope up with the syllabus due to lack of faculty
Campus is not yet ready so the classes are being held at a different campus which is very small

Admission:

The eligibility for course is that you must clear the NEET-UG and appear for the counselling afterwards and you will select the college of your choice there. Reservation is there as per the national guidelines and the exam date is released somewhere in the starting of the year and the exam commences in may with admissions in august . The admission process takes place at college and one needs to bring all their documents(original) with them like the 10th , 12th marksheet , their reservation certificate if any , their bonafide for residence and a medical is done at the colllege itself.

Life in chamba medical college.

Likes

I really liked the beauty of the mountains surrounding the college campus . This college gives the benefit of patient interactions much more than other colleges
Tge college provides freedom of interaction ,thinking.
It's a nice simple college with different aspects of beauty.

Dislikes

The waiting period of getting the stipend very less holidays
Extracurricular activities are also very less performed.
Not much exposure given of sports or any other fields .

Admission:

You have to give NEET -UG for getting into mbbs . There are total 90000 seats approximately for 20 lakh students . The competition is very tough and you have to get a decent rank to get into any government medical college. Reservation as known ...SC st categories student gets seat at much lower rank .This exam happens once in a year. The counselling is conducted in 3 rounds and then students are made to select their college and then a merit list is made.

I am doing my MBBS course from this college, I got admission in this college based on my NEET score. I applied for NEET examination and applied for counseling and under State quota in counseling I got admission in this college. One should appear for NEET exam to get admission in MBBS in this college and must clear cut off set by this college. One should have studied Physics, Chemistry and biology in 12th and must have completed 17 years of age.

Admission:

I got admission into this college through my NEET score. I appeared for NEET in may and got my result in june. Then I applied for the counseling process and got a list of colleges am eligible for. Then after lot of research i chose this college and then went ahead for the admission procedure.
