HPU Shimla has launched online applications for admission to various undergraduate courses for the 2026-2027 academic session. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official admission portal at nadmissions.hpushimla.in. The university is accepting applications for both entrance test-based and merit-based courses with separate deadlines.

The university is offering admission through two primary pathways: entrance examination-based courses and merit-based courses. Entrance test-based programs include LL.B and other undergraduate professional courses. Merit-based courses include Diploma in Yoga and short-term skill development courses. Candidates must fulfill minimum eligibility criteria and possess qualifying examination marks as prescribed by respective departments.

Candidates applying for entrance test-based courses must possess the required qualifying examination marks from a recognized board or university. For merit-based courses, candidates should have passed their qualifying examination with prescribed percentage marks.

Required documents include original marks sheets, category certificates, migration certificates (if applicable), and identity proofs. Candidates must also submit anti-ragging affidavits and undertakings from parents/guardians as mandatory requirements for admission confirmation.

• Candidates must visit the official HPU admission portal at nadmissions.hpushimla.in to fill their application forms.
• The online application process requires candidates to register with valid email and mobile number.
• Applicants need to upload scanned copies of required documents including qualifying examination marks sheet, category certificate (if applicable), and identity proof.
• After completing the form, candidates must pay the application fee online through available payment gateways.
• Admit cards for entrance tests will be available for download on dates notified separately by the university.

HPU will conduct entrance tests from June 5 to June 20, 2026, across multiple examination centers. The primary examination center is HPU Shimla campus. Additional centers at Government College Mandi and Government College Hamirpur will be created if minimum 100 applicants opt for these locations.

Candidates can select their preferred examination center while filling the application form. The entrance test results will be published by July 4, 2026, on the university website and notice boards.

Counselling Process and Merit List Preparation

After entrance test results are declared, HPU will conduct counselling from July 9 to July 21, 2026. Candidates will be called for counselling in order of merit at a ratio of 1:3 times the number of available seats.

During counselling, candidates must produce original qualifying examination marks sheets and all required documents for verification. The admission committee will verify documents and determine final eligibility. Candidates not able to appear in person can depute authorized representatives with power of attorney and complete documentation.

After admission confirmation, students must report to their respective departments by the specified date. Classes for the odd semester will commence on July 22, 2026, and continue until November 20, 2026. Examinations will be held from November 20 to December 24, 2026.

Winter vacations are scheduled from December 26, 2026, to February 11, 2027.
