The best thing about this campus is students can do internship here even after 1st semester. The official internships starts from 3rd year and stipend is quite good like 5-10k per month in reputed company.
Puma, Pantaloons, Fab India, Vogue, Street Style Store, and UN Women India are some of the companies which have been selecting students for internships with Rs. 0-20000 as stipend. Various departments involve a variety of projects such as Graphic Design asks one to make brochures, social media creatives, etc., content writers, marketing management, marketing strategist, Photography, and cinematography are different sections where students opt for their internships. The outcomes involve ultimately branding and marketing of the company or projects.
For us yet now the placement has not been decided because it's been one year of our college and it's been covid so the placements are stopped for now but it will start over the second year of our campus life where the first years are basically foundation course where we study the basics of every single design access energy is taken place so that we have to pass with flying colors and the second year is where we are being designers and train under a designer
Yes, We have an Internship after our 2nd Year of College. For 2 Months of Textile Internship and After 3rd year we have 3 Months Industrial Internship. And 6 Months For Industrial visit for Project. In any Industry you Cam choose.
From first year to final year students can do any intership in brands/companies they want. But NIFT offered the intership to their students which is a part of their curriculum. However during summer breaks, final year students go for an intership programme which helps an experience to get to know the industry from close. Students get internships related to their particular fields. Fashion Designer, Product Designer, Graphic Designer, stylist, photographer etc are the common Job roles. And stipend is always depends the particular brands/companies students doing their internships. Students get projects based on the clients and their feedbacks. Those who hits milestones by completing their tasks excellently got the opportunity of placements through this internship programs.
Stipend is not that much but the opportunities in this course is vast. Comparing other courses. Volkswagen like companies give you a wonderful chance here. An interlinked international colleges also take students like FIT.
Not sure about overall NIFT FD students but my batch had less than 50% placement. Highest offered by shahi and myntra went to 30k in hand. Assistant designer, illustrator, graphics are the key roles offered. The internship was 100% and in major companies across India like Shahi exports Faridabad and Bangalore, FLF Bangalore and many more of these strata like Paramount export Delhi etc.
Placements are good and companies like,Amazon, flipkart,Google,Triburg etc come up to hire well and tallented designers.
In NIFT, internship is the part of the course curriculum, this is for the students to get exposure of the industry but having said that, NIFT does not play any role to allot companies to the students for the internship program. It is the students who contact the companies directly for internship and fetch it for themselves. There are two mandate internship program undertaken by the students according to the curriculum. First, Summer Internship- 8 weeks internship program, opted after the completion of the 6th Semester. Second is the Graduation Project- it is undertaken by all the final year students in their 8th Semester for a duration of sixteen weeks. During which, students work on projects allotted by the company and also develop their own design collections. I did my Summer Internship at Arvind Limited, Bangalore and Graduation Project at UTM/JSML, Bangalore. However, I didn't get stipend during the 8 weeks summer internship program but I got a stipend of Rs. 12,000 during the later.
Placements at nift are not good being a government organisation. Private colleges have way better placements
