As I always wanted to join the merchant navy so my senior's and every one suggested me to join imu as it is a govt college. Bad aspects are you should be strong enough to handle the senior's warden and the strict rules and regulations of the college. As I already told it's a govt college so basically fees are less and placement is also better than other Imus.

I got admission in this college in 2009 through IIT JEE extended merit list, however,at current times,you have to appear for IMU CET exam.This college is one of the oldest government Marine Engineering college & it's old name was DMET.Now a days, it's online counseling & allotment of college.

I cleared IMU CET with a good rank (within 500) and then applied for this institute. This exam is similar to JEE. The application processes are all done online. Based on your ranking you are sent a call letter for counselling.

IMU-CET is a exam exclusively arranged for this college. After scoring in this exams you are called for an counselling in which you have to select among the 7 colleges all over India. Many private colleges also accept this score for marine engineering.
