From Classrooms to Clinic : My College Journey

Likes

My overall experience at the college has been positive,especially in terms of academics and clinical exposure. The college is very good for studying and provides strong clinical experience in affiliated hospitals.
We get hands-on training and simulation based learning is conducted regularly in the skill lab, which helps in improving practical knowledge and confidence before entering real hospital settings.
The faculty members are knowledgeable,supportive, and guide students well during both theory and clinical postings. The college also conducts various health related programs, awareness campaigns and community postings which are very effective.

Dislikes

What i felt disliked in this college is that the segregation or the discrimination between the mbbs students and nursing students as mbbs students are always getting exposure to more cultural activities and we're getting less and with limitations.
One of the aspects i felt needed improvement is the limited number of cultural and extracurricular activities conducted in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Aspects that made me choose this course : The course has strong clinic focus. It gives early ward postings and lab skill training. The mix of theory and clinical work made me choos it. The course gives hands-on skill in wards and lab. We learn case study, care plan and drug chart. It also improves our critical thinking skills during intervention. Areas to improve : More skill lab time can be added. More demo with new tech will help. More group talk snd case based learn can imrpove study. There are 2 internal exams each sem and one final exam. Exams are fair and needed daily study. They are not very hard if we prepare well.

I decided to choose for the course because it made me motivate as it provides a scope for serving the people who are the need and danger it up help me knowing that the field of medicine is not only limited but it has a vast way to go

Why i chose Vydehi Institute of nursing science and research Center?

Likes

The college now has a cery good academic teaching techniques. Especially we get to experience experts classes fro the medical college and also from well experienced doctors in our hospital.
The clinical exposure and experience we get are remarkable. They carve out a well skilled and trained nurses

Dislikes

The strictness of the college is sometimes unbearable
Lack of much extracurricular activities sometimes tire us out.
Continuous classes along with duties especially night shifts also is sometimes unbearable.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is indeed great. Nursing is a field with a vast opportunities all around the world. And also we are exposed to clinical duty from our first year of college itself so we get a very excellent working experience. Teaching methods were a bit lazy but now new teachers have joined and all is going great. The timings of exams will twice a year, semester exams. And also 3 internal assessment exams every year.

My Experience in Vydehi Institute

Likes

Teaching process is good and students are lucky for that.
Disciplines is the first and foremost important thing in our college.
Well behaviour of the students and teachers.

Placement Experience:

From the very beginning of the 3rd year (GNM) and 4th year(BSc), students of those batches can start their internship. After passing these 2 batches students can get placements in our college and hospital. The average package given yearly is 100000. Well-qualified students can avail the offer with a short interview.
