Sree Narayana Guru College Coimbatore M.Phil Computer Science: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Application form and Prospectus for M.Phil. (FT/PT) and Ph.D. (FT/PT) programs can be downloaded from the Bharathiar University’s official website.  Here are the steps to download the application form:

1. Go to the official website of Bharathiar University. (Link Above)
2. Click on ‘Academic’ tab and click on ‘Research Programs’.
3. Now, click on the form that you need to download.
4. The form will open in a pdf format, save it and take a print out of it.
5. Finally, fill the form carefully after going through all the instructions.

Application Fee:

• Cost of Application for M.Phil. - Rs.500/-
• Cost of Application for Ph.D. - Rs. 600/-

Payment Methods:

The above said application fees payable in the form of Demand Draft (from any nationalized bank) / Challan (Bank of India) shall be drawn in favor of the ‘The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore’ and made payable in ‘Coimbatore’.(Name of the candidate should be furnished at the back side of the DD).

Note:

• If a candidate applies for more than one college, he/she has to pay the cost of application Rs.500/- for M.Phil. And Rs.600/- for Ph.D. program for each application.
• The Application form consists of two copies (First Copy and Second Copy).

For admission to university departments:

First copy (without any enclosures) has to be sent to The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-46 and second copy (all attested Xerox copies of testimonials from 10th standard onwards along with original Demand Draft) has to be sent to the HOD of the concerned Department of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-46.

For admission to affiliated colleges of Bharathiar University/ Approved Research Institute:

First copy with original Demand Draft (without any enclosures) has to be sent to The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-46 and second copy (all attested Xerox copies of testimonials from 10th standard onwards) has to be sent to the Principal / Director of concerned College / Institution.

The filled in applications should reach to the University and concerned college on or before September 15, 2016 at 5.00 pm

For Full-Time Candidates:

• Candidates with Master’s degree in the concerned or related discipline or any other qualification recognized as equivalent
• Candidates must have scored 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates in the minimum eligibility marks) and above in the Master’s degree
• Candidates with 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates in the minimum eligibility marks) of marks and above in the Master’s degree and working as Full- time Research Fellows/Technical Assistants/Research Assistants in time-bound Research schemes of one year duration or more in University Departments/Research Departments of Affiliated Colleges/Recognized Research Institutions

For Part-Time Candidates:

• Any person employed in any concern/organization/institution/ R & D Centers / Laboratories situated within Tamil Nadu or Research Institutions recognized by Bharathiar University with a minimum of 55% of marks in the Master’s degree. Such candidates shall produce a No objection certificate and Service Certificate from the Employer or Head of the Institution (in case of Educational Institutions)
• All teachers working in colleges affiliated to Bharathiar University are eligible. Candidates working as guest lecturers on consolidated pay are also eligible to pursue M.Phil. (Part-time) program after they produce an NOC and service certificate from their respective colleges
• Medium of Language is Tamil for the candidates doing their research in Yoga for Human Excellence and who have studied UG/PG degree courses in Tamil medium and for the rest of the candidates, the medium is English.

Admission will be made on the basis of the PG marks, marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test (CET July 2015 only) and interview.

The qualifying examinations marks converted to: 50 Marks

Common Entrance Test: 35 Marks

Interview: 15 Marks

Total: 100 marks

Entrance Exam Pattern:

The entrance test will be based around subjects studied in the course study at the PG level by the candidate. Here are details of the entrance test:

• There will be 50 Questions in total ,all the question will be of objective type (MCQ)
• Maximum Marks: 35 (50x0.7=35)
• Time Duration: 1.30 hours

Exemption from the written test:

• M.Phil. degree holders need not appear for common entrance test, however they will be required to appear for the interview.
• UGC/CSIR-JRF NET/SLET/GATE/ Teacher fellowship holders / Scientist working in DRDO / faculty of Air Force Administrative College/foreign candidates need not appear for entrance test. Such candidates shall be directly admitted to the doctoral program through interview.

The qualifying examinations marks converted to: 50 Marks

UGC/CSIR-JRF NET/SLET/GATE: 35 Marks

Interview: 15 Marks

Total: 100 marks

Note: However, for the Scientist working in DRDO / faculty of Air Force Administrative College/ foreign candidates the department should conduct entrance test and interview to assess the knowledge of the concerned discipline.
