The admission is very easy that in no way means that the quality of students is compromised. By easy I mean it does not need a lot of formalities and just follows some easy and doable steps for all.

The admission process of the college does not really issues a merit list but an All India level examination is conducted for all the students across India known as GATE. After you appear for this exam then your selection takes place depending on your rank.

I appeared for an entrance exam which was organized by the institute themselves. The entrance exam was basic but I was nervous about the interview. My interview lasted for almost half an hour and then I was finally granted admission.

I got admission on the basis of my entrance test scores. Actually, after clearing the entrance exam I was called for the interview round. My interview was very critical, the panel tore me to shreds but I handled most of the questions pretty decently.

ISI New Delhi: 1 Answered Question

What are reviews about ISI (Indian Statistical Institute) placements and MS programmes at centres in Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata?

Tarun ChakrabortyStudied at Indian Statistical Institute (2017)

Having to know some people studying at both Simsree and KJ Somaiya and here are some things that you should know. They both are equally good.

  • Both the institutes, for their MMS course, teach the same syllabus specified by the University of Mumbai. So, according to the content, there is no difference.
  • This is generally a good thing that you are specializing in something that roughly 4 to 5% of the batch will specialize in.
  • It is not as difficult for the placement committee to get companies with specific profiles.
  • The institutes have been there for a fairly long time and both have a steady pool of recruiters. Therefore, placements are not very problematic.
  • Having said that, placements depend on multiple factors, and nothing can be guaranteed.
  • K J Somaiya has more full-time faculty members whereas SIMSREE has more visiting faculty members. But cannot say the same about the operations specialization.

Irrespective of where you go, your responsibility is to get better, participate in competitions, do certifications, and improve yourself holistically. The institute cannot impose anything if you have no intention of doing it.
