NIA Pune PGDM : Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

The National Insurance Academy (NIA) in Pune starts its admission process in December after the CAT exam and continues until March, with a second stage in April. The college accepts CAT and CMAT scores, with cutoffs of 71 and 87.5, respectively. Applicants participate in a Written Ability Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview at centers in Delhi, Pune, and Lucknow. The final selection is based on 50% entrance exam scores, 30% GD and PI, and 20% academic records.

In 2019, there were over 800 applications for 80-90 seats. The institution, backed by PSU insurers and the Ministry of Finance, offers a Post Graduate Diploma in Management with a focus on insurance and finance. The faculty includes experienced academicians and industry professionals, ensuring market-relevant education. The two-year course fee is approximately 11.25 lakhs for hostel students and 8.18 lakhs for non-hostel students, payable in four installments. Education loans are available through a partnership with the Bank of Maharashtra.

The campus provides amenities like a gym, swimming pool, and meditation center. NIA has a 100% placement rate with major recruiters such as Aditya Birla Group, Bajaj Allianz, Cognizant, Infosys, and Tata Consultancy Services. For the 2020-22 batch, the highest salary was 29.5 LPA, and the average was 10.3 LPA, with 30% of students receiving pre-placement offers. Students complete a mandatory 2-month internship, earning stipends between 20,000 to 40,000 rupees monthly.

The placement cell provides extensive support, organizing mock interviews and tests. Scholarships are available, including merit-based awards of 1 lakh for top students and need-based aid for economically disadvantaged students, as well as specific scholarships for SC, ST, and OBC categories.
