Exploring mount carmel college

Likes

The crowd is gery descent inside the campus making everone friendly and supportive
The teaching and non teaching staff are very friendly
The teachers teaching is a little modern type they teach in smart boards and show videos of the topic

Dislikes

Its a little far for me from my house to college
The canteen food is not that great and a little expensive
To enter library you need to remove socks and shoes and no phones allowed

Placements and good at this college starting from 1st sem itself theyll give good guest lectures and they will try there best make you good at interview with all the communication lectures it will be usefull and the placements will start from 3rd sem

My Experience at Mount Carmel College

Likes

The campus is quite neat and well maintained.
Till last year, it was an all girls college, which felt safer.
The courses are quite affordable, making it accessible for students from various backgrounds.

Dislikes

There is absolutely no space for criticisms with the management. The management is very authoritarian and does not listen to student voices.
Washrooms are not of great quality. Sometimes there is no water in the washrooms either.
The student council is nominated by the management and works as a puppet of the management, not addressing student concerns at all.

Placement Experience:

After the 2nd year, you are offered the option to register for placements. Various companies like Goldman Sachs, EY and NGOs like TeachForIndia visit the college yearly for placements. I am not very aware of the placement scenario in the college as I am planning on pursuing my masters immediately after college and hence, am not looking to get placed. The placement cell in the college is very functional however, and give time-to-time updates about placements and internship opportunities.

The campus is very near and clean with good plants and is well maintained
We have councellors for students who need help and they are available till the college working hours
Libraries we find all types of book from subject related to novels which is very helpful

Dislikes

Sometimes the dress code is not followed by the students

Placement Experience:

Students can enroll to placement at their final year 5th semester the notice will be sent to the students in the starting of the final year. Ey,ICICI Bank, Zomato,Egrms etc have visited the college almost 40 offers have been made The highest package was 24 lpa and the average is 4.5 lpa the package depends on the role the company offers Almost all the students enrolled to the placement get placed about 80% of applied students get placed My future plans are on getting a masters degree in finance

Review of my college @MCC

Likes

Teaching is actually good updated syllabus every year
Faculties are very well qualified and experienced
Industrial experience faculties are also there

Dislikes

Timings of the college is too hectic it's from 8-4 everyday
Canteen food is too costly and overrated also it not so tasty outside food is sooo much better and affordable
There's no lift access for students students have to climb till 4th floor by steps itself

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college is very good already 8 of my classmates hv got placed in 1st year itself so there's no worries about the placement almost 29 companies hav visited till now the average package is 6LPA

MCC - A college of Dreams

I love the overall ambience of the college and it's stunning infrastructure.
I love the staff, and the subjects that they teach are just amazing on their own
I love the fact tha it has onekf the highest number of Associations amongst all the colleges in India (67).

Dislikes

Sometimes, they give an illogical amount of work to do in very less time. It causes discomfort in a lot of students and is somewhat not pleasing.
There is no boys hostel which is justified as they turned into co-ed this year itself from all girls, but yes, finding a room for accomodation might be a hassle.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is a triple disciplinary course in Biotechnology, Chemistry and Microbiology. It's a pretty impressive yet morbidly difficult course over other such courses. It's future aspects span a huge range of jobs with inclusions like research and development as well as corporate jobs. There is nothing to be improved more in this course, it's pretty much self sufficient the way it is. The frequency of exams is pretty average however there are frequent class tests which is important for the students' development. Thetiming of the cia is 1.5 hr and for the end sems is 3hr. The papers are pretty standard however he Chemistry paper is difficult.

My review of the famous Mount Carmel college: pros and cons

Likes

The cultural fests and the overall atmosphere of comfort within friend groups
Availability of faculty and modern building structures
Campus amenities like library, computer labs, e-resource centres

Dislikes

Girls to boys ratio is now 4:1 compared to the all-girls policy followed till 2023.
Last minute information circulation (exams/events)
Change in the dress code and stricter regulations after the co-ed policy starting 2024

Placement Experience:

From 3rd semester end 1-2 companies may come for certain select roles in fields of technology and business operations. However majority of the colleges begin with placements from 5th semester i.e 3rd year onwards. Few students have got the package of 20+LPA, this offer could be by DE Shaw, JPM or Deloitte 80% placement guarantee.

I liked canteen,there almost all the facilities r good
Coming to fests fests r too good.our.colege is know for fests in Bangalore
Stationary is available, hostel is available, digital library is too good also it has e library

Dislikes

Sunday and Saturday extra classes. Extra class class taken on week days
Too much assignment. Early timings to come to college
Here ratio of boys : to girls is 1 :9. Because it was girls college before

From the last year of any ug or pg we can get enrolled.aptitude test will be done.. There r many companies which will visit our campus. Many students will get placed. I would like to choose msc in data science

The best campus life

Likes

The infrastructure is mind blowing.The classrooms are big enough to fit 70-80 students in a class

Dislikes

Less space in canteen may be they should have more space as there are many students

There are many opportunities to the students who join Mount Carmel Institutions. Especially for Bcom they have seperate management so they can concentrate on everyone not only Bcom every department has its own management.The recruitment process is well designed for the students who seek for job and the compensation for the students who are sitting for placements are designed well compared to other colleges. As a institution Mount Carmel is doing its best in order to provide best for their students but in studies and curriculum. The frequency and the timing is okay when they conduct examination

Women domination - it is good to see the women leading in this college and given a lot of opportunities
Extra curricular activities are prioritised
Opportunities for socialising within the college and our side college during fests , etc

Dislikes

Very strict with 75% attendance mandatorily

After the 2nd year the students are eligible to apply for placements . The college also provides with pre placemets talks with the company and placement preparations Around 70 to 80% of the students get placed The average CGPA to sit for placements is 6 The average package ranges from 4 lakhs to 18 lakhs being the highest My plan is to move abroad after bachelors in which the college helps with recommendation letters

Its a good college everything provided i just lived it
The campus is very good felt like heaven and was relaxing
Teachers were also good but economic teacher were bit strict

Dislikes

Economic teachers were used to make feel down and never use to encourage
There were good people and we use to have computers and advance technologi willy
I will suggest to take subject which you are interested and never depend on frnd they betray

Coosing courses were there we can choose accordingly and if we want to chang3 we can even channge ut and the academic are good and they were good teaching nice teachers and principle help sttudents and treat well

What is your review of Mount Carmel College Bangalore?

Mount Carmel College is one of the finest in Bangalore. It has received star college award for the science department. The campus has a great student crowd with fantastic energy.

The college has good infrastructure. Every class has a hybrid board for presentation. The campus has a lot of uncluttered spaces to socialize and study. The sports facilities are pretty good as well. The basketball and the fields are well-maintained. The campus also has a well-equipped gym.

The professors are well-qualified and helpful. The undergraduate courses taught at the college have a decent balance between theoretical and practical subjects.

Mount Carmel College placements are pretty good. In the recent placement, the median CTC offered to students was INR 3 LPA. The number of companies visiting the campus is increasing each year. Big MNCs like Wipro, Dell, E&Y, JP Morgan, etc. visit the campus drive.

I have a few friends from Mount Carmel College Bangalore. Their experience at the college has been quite good. Here are some snippets of their experience at the college.

Placements: Many reputed companies visit the college to recruit students. In the recent placement drive, the average and highest CTC offered at the institute was 2.95 LPA and 7 LPA. The placement cell also conducts placement training for the students, before the placement drive.
Facilities: The laboratory facilities offered at the institute are quite good. The 1st floor of the LSCB block has all the science labs. The computer labs use all the modern technologies.
Course Curriculum: The course curriculum followed for B.Com is quite good. Teachers use live examples to teach.
Fest: MCC organizes many fests. CulAh is quite reputed in Bangalore.

Overall, doing B.Com from Mount Carmel College is a good option.
