LIFE in CEG Guindy

Likes

College gives full freedom that we can learn how to survive in this world by facing our problems without help like in school
This college provides fantastic placement opportunities depend upon our talent and department
This college gives spaces for improving our extra curricular activities and muc more

Dislikes

The faculty doesn't teach well and they didn't put efforts to teach the concept
The infrastructure was not good they have improve
The mental state of student in this college was in so bad situation and they face lot of pressure so, for this the management conduct some counselling

From 6th semester onwards the students became eligible for campus placement and it depends on the company We have lots placement and company depends upon the dept For IT company we have more placement More than 90% in cse, it In other depts is to low My plan was to write central government exam

It is over hyped

This college is located in city main, so it is huge atmosphere to learn other things also,co education system also good
Giving importance to sports,every week some programs happen.
Canteen food is affordable,taste is good

Dislikes

Placement only good for it and cse( major course)
Hostel is not good, very old building,size is very small
Professor plays main role, sometimes they made huge impact in result

Placement Experience:

In 6 sem campus interview we can attern. The most of main campanies were visited ( Microsoft, google , tcs , wipro, siemens like that..).in 2025 in cse one student got placed for 50lpa, average package is 10lpa, percentage of student getting placed is 55 percentage. I plan for higher studies, and college providing guidance and alumini scholarship for higher education.

CEG - A balance between academics and passion

Likes

Beautiful green campus with tons of trees and animals including monkeys and puppies
Awesome fests, there's always some technical or non technical event going on
The iconic red building, an awesome photo spot

Dislikes

College timings are pretty long, 8 30 to 4 45
Too many snails during rainy season, a big hindrance to walk lol
Canteen hasn't been opened yet so we go to ACT for canteen

Placement Experience:

As I'm still in first year, I'm not very well versed with the placement stats but as far as I have heard, it's great, a ton of top companies come here and the lpa is pretty high compared to other colleges for circuital courses. A good amount of students go ahead and pursue masters in India or abroad after college. My plans, I'm not very sure but I'd also mostly do MS after college if I don't land an extraordinary job

Anna University: A Comprehensive Overview for Interested Students

Likes

Campus Size. The campus is huge, with an incredible amount of buildings, and ample seating. Multiple cafeterias for eating.
Range of Courses: All the basic engineering degrees are offered by Anna University. In addition, niche fields like Printing Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, etc are also available for enrollment
Availability of Sports Facilities: Some of the facilities are: 2 Basketball Courts, 1 Volleyball court, 2 Tennis courts, 1 football field, 2 gyms, etc...

Dislikes

Bureaucracy: There's no real control over how professors interact with students and their marks. If a professor doesn't like you, they can fail you in the subject and there's nothing you can do about it. Typical of a government college though.
Infrastructure: While Anna university is supposed to have the best infrastructure in TN Government colleges, it's really not the best at all, when it comes to new equipment.
Power Cuts, faulty Water supply. Most Water coolers don't work, and the electricity is off for a considerable portion of the day, forcing students to stew in the heat.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for summer internship placements from the 5th semester. They are eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. There were over a 200 companies that visited. IT and CS have a 100% placement rate.

Likes

I like the way the college treats its students.
I likes the way the college helps the students to get succeed in the career by conducting various courses.
Every staffs in the college helps each students during their placement.

Dislikes

I dislike the food that is provided by the hostel management.

Placement Experience:

The placement in the campus was very good. Each department package differs accordingly. In our department the maximum package is 19 lpa. Almost 90 percentage of students will be placed in good companies.

Likes

Environment and method of approch to faculty.
Camps and other activities during semester holiday
Clubs and fest to enchance skill and develop socil skill

Dislikes

Placement method as it involves only 60 percent
No scholarship was given to self regulation course
Election as it makes students to involve in chos

Placement Experience:

During 8th semester students will face placement. Many companies give their norms as high gpa and no arrears and few companies will have no norms. Usually the package will be around 1l per year. Only 60 percent of students will be placed every year.

Enriching learning experience at CEG

Likes

The cultural events and friendliness of the faculty were also amazing.
The biodiversity of the campus with lots of trees, plants, insects, etc.
Library that offered a peaceful study environment.

Dislikes

The schedule changes in the daily classes may affect dayscholars
Hostel students complaining about mess food
Work-Life balance may be quite hard to manage

Placement Experience:

Students usually sit for placements in the final year of college. Various companies come from various sectors. In my department companies like Caterpillar, Ashok Leyland, MRF, Kinaxis, L1 Supply Networks, Latentview, TCS, CTS, etc. came. The highest package was around 10 lakhs per annum offered by Caterpillar. The average package would be around 6 LPA. All the students who opted in for placements got placed. Several students opted for higher studies and government exams. I have opted for civil services preparation.

Pride of this college as it is nearly 220 years old ..
Placements are very good and Ranked no 1 college in TNEA counseling
Library with well infrastructure is very nice...

Placement Experience:

There will be an internship after completing the 4th semester. Placements will be in the 6th semester. Many companies will be there for placements for mechanical like Caterpillar, L&T, IT companies, etc. Mostly all students will be placed in campus interviews.

Placement Experience:

Many companies visited my college for placements. The companies are TCS, FIAT, and THERMAX. 70 percent of students are placed in their respective fields. I plan to do higher studies after getting my degree.
