UIIT does not currently provide hostel facilities for its students due to a lack of support from HPU, with construction for a girls' hostel underway and expected to complete in about a year. Most students opt for paying guest (PG) accommodations or rented rooms in Shimla, where PGs are considered affordable, with rents ranging from Rs 5,500 to Rs 6,500 per month.

These PGs provide three meals a day and have good infrastructure, including WiFi. While HPU hostels are available, they are difficult to secure due to high demand. The college administration plans to prioritize the construction of hostels for girls, followed by boys.
