ISI Kolkata Placement 2026: Highest Package, Average Package, Top Recruiters

My friend is currently studying at ISI Kolkata, and according to him, there’s no specific course on Data Science currently. However, students belonging to M.Tech CS often get placed in companies for data science profiles. Thus, you must check the placement insights for M.Tech CS instead.

Here are some crucial placement stats for M.Tech CS batch in recent years. 

• The highest package offered was nearly 39 LPA
• The lowest package offered was about 13 LPA
• The Average package remained 18.8 LPA and the median package was almost 18 LPA
• Various roles offered mainly consisted of Analyst, Data Scientist, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Quantitative Researcher, Trader, Resident Researcher, Software Engineer, etc.
• The major companies where CS students got placed included Microsoft, LinkedIn, Flipkart, Myntra, Zendrive, Yodlee, Optum, Sapient Razorfish, Fidelit, Oyo, etc. 
• Other companies that offered jobs for CS students included Alphonso TV, Goldman Sachs, JPMC, Trexquant, STAR, Reliance, Fourkites, Samsung, TeraData, Play games, ElasticRun, Blackrock, and more with annual packages ranging from 12 LPA to 35 LPA.

The placement scenario at ISI Kolkata remains absolutely impressive for almost all courses. Almost everyone gets placed, except those who are going for higher studies instead. If you are confused about the placement system at ISI Kolkata, you don’t need to worry at all. You can grab pretty attractive packages with your caliber.

All the courses of ISI Kolkata i.e. M. Math, M. Tech (CSE), M. Stat, MSQE, and M. Tech QROR have the same placement rate that is 100%. All the courses have a placement rate of 100% and every student of ISI Kolkata either gets placed. 

The only thing that differs in all these courses in terms of placement is the time when they get placement. The students from one course get placed earlier than the other. M.Stat students get placed earlier than the MSQE or M.Tech students. According to the average package, the students of M.Stat usually receive a higher average package. • This is generally a good thing that you are specializing in something that roughly 4 to 5% of the batch will specialize in. 
• It is not as difficult for the placement committee to get companies with specific profiles.
• The institutes have been there for a fairly long time and both have a steady pool of recruiters. Therefore, placements are not very problematic. 
• Having said that, placements depend on multiple factors, and nothing can be guaranteed.
• K J Somaiya has more full-time faculty members whereas SIMSREE has more visiting faculty members. But cannot say the same about the operations specialization.

Irrespective of where you go, your responsibility is to get better, participate in competitions, do certifications, and improve yourself holistically. The institute cannot impose anything if you have no intention of doing it.
