No, unfortunately, ISI Kolkata does not provide undergraduate courses on computer science. However, the proposal for starting B.Tech in computer science has been put forward but has not landed to any conclusion yet, and is being said that in the coming future this proposal may be accepted.

For now, the present scenario of the undergraduate course in ISI Kolkata would just be B.Stat and B.Math. They both contain extensive teaching in computer programming as well as statistics.

B.Math is a combination of computer science and pure mathematics and statistics. Whereas B.Stat contains lesser topics of computer science in their syllabus than B.Math.

Does ISI Kolkata offers any undergraduate courses apart from B.Stat or B.Math?

According to some of my friends from ISI Kolkata said it does offer undergraduate courses B.Stat or B.Math. Let me tell you some courses in detail for better insight.

Indian Statistical Institute offers the following two bachelor programs:

3-year B Stat (Honors):

The criterion for this is you require successful completion of Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects.
You will get a Stipend Rs.3000/- per month (Offered at Kolkata).

3-year B Math (Honors):

The criterion for this is you require successful completion of Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects.
Stipend Rs.3000/- per month (Offered at Bangalore).

Therefore, according to my friends, apart from these two undergraduate courses, ISI does not offer any other Bachelor Programs.

Can I apply for more than one master course at ISI Kolkata?

Yes, you can apply for more than one master’s course at ISI Kolkata but you won’t be able to appear for more than one entrance examination.

All the entrance exams are conducted on the same day at the same time, therefore you will not be able to appear for more than one examination.
Technically you can fill the application forms for more than one examination if you are a bit confused at present and want to have safe options. You can apply using two different email IDs to register and make the payments for both of them.

But in the end, you will have to decide which exam you want to prepare for and appear in.

Does ISI conducts separate exam for Delhi and Kolkata campus for MSQE course?

One of my friends graduated from ISI, Delhi Campus. So I might be able to give you some information about it.

For the Kolkata and Delhi campuses, I don’t believe there are separate MSQE exams.
When filling out the application, you must choose between Kolkata and Delhi.
If nothing has changed since 2009, which I assume it has, you will only have to take one exam and select your campus on the application form.

However, in Delhi and Kolkata, interviews are performed at the relevant locations. That is, students who are chosen in a Delhi interview are admitted to ISI Delhi, and vice versa.

Which course has the higher placement rate and higher package at ISI, Kolkata?

All the courses of ISI Kolkata i.e. M. Math, M. Tech (CSE), M. Stat, MSQE, and M. Tech QROR have the same placement rate that is 100%. All the courses have a placement rate of 100% and every student of ISI Kolkata either gets placed.

The only thing that differs in all these courses in terms of placement is the time when they get placement. The students from one course get placed earlier than the other. M.Stat students get placed earlier than the MSQE or M.Tech students. According to the average package, the students of M.Stat usually receive a higher average package. However, MSQE or M.Tech students also get higher packages in some years. The average CTC offered at the institute is 19 LPA.

Being a computer science engineer, how can I apply for a post graduate course in ISI KOLKATA?

You can apply to get into ISI Kolkata in two ways each year. Usually, right after the GATE exam, they post an advertisement in the paper for admissions.

After this, you can do the following:

First, take the written test provided by the college for admission and if you crack it, you will qualify for the interview process.
Secondly, if you have given GATE, you will be called directly for the interview if you have scored well.

But, make sure that you do well in the interview. This is the final qualifier for obtaining admission.
